DCW development: explore the possibilities

A meeting to explore Community, service to the poor and witnessing against the causes of oppression

Invitation - Dublin Catholic Worker Tuesday 7th of March at 7:00pm

Are you interested in community, service to the poor, bearing witness against the causes of oppression?

We are a small group of people who are inspired and challenged by the tradition of the Catholic Worker and the radical social teaching of the Gospels.

We are in the process of exploring the possibility of establishing an expression of these values

We invite you to come and discuss these ideas over a meal at

After great grub courtesy of Bernard, eleven attended the meeting, including four current residents of the house - one of these said he was a neutral onlooker.

Two camps appeared - those interested in working out "the energy", and those interested in working out "ideas". (philosophy vs. action).

A CW house is to be begun in Limerick very soon.

Almost everyone agreed to join a mailing list (not Yahoo).

Generally thought that DCW is at a very precarious stage. It may become a loose network rather than a coherent group.

Music supplied by Joe Black and Robbie Sinnott, but most retired to the kitchen for a post-meeting analysis.
