Shoot to kill
--------------------------------------------------------------
Seconds to decide if suspect is suicide threat
Special armed squad first to use tactics developed with Israeli aid

Vikram Dodd
Saturday July 23, 2005

Guardian

The shooting yesterday at Stockwell tube station was the first time police used special tactics developed to tackle the threat of suicide bombers.
Under Operation Kratos a senior officer is on standby 24 hours a day to authorise the deployment of special armed squads, who will track and if needs be, shoot dead suspected suicide bombers.

One of the most senior officers involved in protecting London confirmed there were special teams of armed officers ready to be deployed.

The Metropolitan Police Service have admitted that the Muslim man they callously murdered as he lay with his arms spread on the floor of a tube train was not in any way connected to the attacks on London transport or to any criminal acts.

Just before he was murdered the man knew only that he was being pursued by five skin head types so he ran for safety into the carriage of a tube train in Stockwell underground station. When he tripped an fell they shouted "armed police" so he sprad his arms and lay motionless but this did not save him.

His crime - that he lived in a flat in a house the police had mistakenly targeted. The polices' crime - Murder.

Police have admitted that a "special project group " has developed operational proceedures to deal with Muslim suspects. These tactics, they admit, have been learned from their counterparts in Israel, Russia and the US where anti-Islamic Crusades have raged for decades. What next for Britains "Socialist" regime? Bulldozing Muslim suspects' homes in Bradford? I'm sure the Billy boys in the Met bemoan the fact they don't have such clear targets for their mass murder as their "counterparts" in Russia, Israel and the US. Oh, for a Grozny or a Ramallah in the home counties. It looks like the poor bully boys will have to stick to beating up opposing football fans on the weekends and their wives on weeknights.

God help that poor man, executed on the ground like a dog..

The above title is a quote from 'anti-terrorism expert' Robert Ayers of the Royal Institute of International Affairs think tank.

It describes the shoot-to-kill policy which was used by the Met. cops in their murder of an innocent man in London's Tube yesterday.

So will the killer cops be charged with murder? I think not. Despite the fact that ten British servicemen are facing charges arising out of their war crimes in Iraq
(http://www.aljazeera.com/me.asp?service_ID=8630), fears of a shoot-to-kill policy is bound to breed animosity amongst Britain's multi-ethnic community, and of course amongst everyone who likes to wear long baggy coats.

The cold blooded murder of a young Brazilian electrician by the Brits shoot-to-kill policy bears bad news for London's homeless - afterall, it's usually street drinkers who are laden with jackets and jumpers in summer time, london style.

I remember an old wise man telling me when I was studying in Co. Galway: "If you can't see the hills of Clare it's going to rain, and if you can see them, well, it's raining."
Such is the advice one should offer everyone living in Britain and Ireland.
Have a long (baggy) rainjacket close at hand

A few scattered showers are expected in London tomorrow, but what would you choose? 5 bullets or a rainjacket. See the London forecast yourself:
http://www.lbc973.co.uk/Article.asp?PT=News+Headlines&id=26815

Although the five day forecast in Sao Paulo (where Jean Charles de Menezes, 27, came from) currently looks a bit more like what one would expect here in Dublin or over there in London, summer in Sao P is in December-February.

'Man Killed in London Not Linked to Blasts'
By PATRICK QUINN, Associated Press Writer

LONDON - 'Police identified the man who was chased down in a subway and shot to death by plainclothes officers as a Brazilian and expressed regret Saturday for his death, saying they no longer believed he was tied to the recent terror bombings.'

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20050723/ap_on_re_eu/britain_underground

The Brits carried out their own unique form of terrorism in Northern Ireland with a Shoot-to-Kill policy.

Interestingly Gerry Adams writes in this week's Vincent Browne edited/managed 'The Village' magazine, about the background to West Belfast's Annual Feile an Phobail. The March 1988 murders in Gibraltar of 3 unarmed IRA volunteers by British undercover soldiers were just the beginning of a series of tit-for-tat killings in N.Ireland's Dirty War which led to a whole community of people labelled as 'terrorists' or the harbourers of same.

As the Sunday Times article linked below states:
'Prophetically, a former senior Special Branch officer from Northern Ireland said: “I suspect that the authorities in England will make all the same mistakes as we did.”

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2087-1706149,00.html

While Sky News breezes over the murder of an innocent man by the British police, 'The Weekend Journal on CBS broadcasts a terror-training package for all it's braindead (that must include me if I'm relating this news) viewers.

Fear is the health of the State.

That the police can go around "executing" innocent civilians on the whim of a mere suspicion and everything can be blamed on the "terrorists" ?
That this poor f**ker was just a bit of "collateral damage" in the "glorious war against terror" ?

God help me but when I have to read your drivel I begin to realise that Osama Bin Laden and his ilk are well on the way to winning *their* war against "western civilisation".

If you - as I suspect you would claim to be - are a representative and defender of the values of "western civilisation" then we are all well and truly f**ked.

And not only that, with your ignorant snide remarks trying to make political capital out of the misfortunes of others you insult the intelligence of all non-partisan readers of indymedia.ie.

I can only wonder why - being the noble crusader that you are - you haven't yet donned the uniform of your country and gone to Iraq to fulfil your patriotic duty by playing *your* part in fighting these evil "terrorists". Or could it just be that behind all the swagger and bravado you are just a yellow-bellied chicken-shit pants-pisser with a big mouth ?

"Garda shoot to Kill" article of June
http://www.indymedia.ie/newswire.php?story_id=70008
I remember leaving 2 comments on June 3 with photo of Harry Stanley, 46, a painter and decorator, who was shot in the head outside an east London pub on September 22 1999. In May 2005 Chief Inspector Neil Sharman, 42, and Constable Kevin Fagan, 38, the two Metropolitan police marksmen concerned, succeeded in overturning an inquest verdict of unlawful killing. But June 2 they were arrested after new forensic evidence came to light following a re-examination of existing material. "

"The arrests are the latest twist in the long-running legal battle over the shooting outside the Alexandra pub in Hackney, east London. An anonymous 999 caller claimed to have spotted an Irishman wielding a gun wrapped in a plastic bag."

"As Mr Stanley, a Scotsman, left the pub, carrying a bag containing a wooden coffee table leg his brother had repaired, he was challenged and shot dead by the two police marksmen, who said they thought he was pointing a sawn-off shotgun at them."
The whole story is @ this link :-
http://www.guardian.co.uk/crime/article/0,2763,1498393,00.html

I'm sure it will be a suitable "compare & contrast", considering that Scotland Yard are firmly behind their men ""These officers were asked to make a split-second life and death decision ... six years later their decision is still being examined by the legal system. How many of us would want to be in that position?"", and those split second moments occured when the irishman with a sawn-off shotgun became a scotsman with a table leg.

"Every time someone is shot, everytime a bullet is shot, our attention is merited, and obligatory. The very fact that the sort of civilisation we have worked long to help emerge in Europe, UK and Ireland generally restricts the use of arms, and firearms in particular, means "we're interested" because whomever gets to carry those guns are special.
And engaged in activity which though described as "just a job" has the real potential for long lasting social effect, which may run counter to the true needs of security of the citizens."

The Police did not save lives on the 21st of June. That was an act of God or Allah.
On the 22nd the Police terrorised many Londoners. Will Asians and Muslims feel more secure now knowing the dead man was Brazilian?
Will young muslims collaborate now with the police, and young brazilians not? If London had reacted properly and emotionally as a community to the attacks, then such psychosis would have not been registered. We may never allow ourselves to believe that the security of a city ought be in the hands of the police alone.

The unfortunate Mr de Menezes who I understand to be Catholic rather than Muslim has been found guilty by the 'intelligence' services of being in possession of a non-white face and dealt with accordingly. The sooner this type of accountable democracy is brought to the people of Iraq the better.

As the days pass from the shooting, make that cold-blooded murder, of Mr. de Menezes, some of those that opened their mouth before engaging their brain must be feeling a degree of remorse. Comments ranged from "he was asking for it" to "that police officer must be feeling terrible". However, by the 4 August it is painfully clear that the police had told a pack of lies from Sir Ian Blair down, in an attempt to mitigate their culpability. Equally reprehensible was the way the press went along for the ride, desiminating police lies and beating the bushes for any information, however anicdotal, to the victim's discredit. Remember the expression "never speak ill of the dead"? This is because the dead can't defend themselves, so only a bottom-of-the-barrel media whore or politician would blacken the name and reputation of a dead victim. The lowest form of animal life, so if the cap fits Ken, put it on.
Another potential resignation candidate is Sir Ian Blair. If you resign now, you might just get to keep your knighthood.
