Just watched the video - have a look for sure you won't be seeing this on RTE (this side of the revolution!)

It is astounding to see so many short documentaries and documentation about varying subjects suddenly popping up on indymedia ireland. I count six from irishheads and one from abroad on the newswire at present alone.

Hope to see the trailers linked to / uploaded for this mayday one. The one about mcDowell and the wombles is a stone cold classic.

Also the various bush in ireland films would be good to see on here.

That is one lame cartoon - like sure when we got to the Ashtown roundabout we were shocked to discover the massed ranks of Fergal Quinn, Tony O'Reilly and Michael Smurfit waiting to show us the error of our ways. LOL

I'll put it up in DivX (which you can view with a Mac) format soon, and post the link here.

shame about the cheesy sub-idm soundtrack.

author by Ze Hammerpublication date Thu Apr 07, 2005 20:50author address author phone Report this post to the editors

It's a shame that the majority of video available here is in the Windows Media Player format (.wmv) as it precludes users of Macs from viewing. Microsoft publishes a free version of Windows Media Player for Mac OS X however due to the belligerent nature off the Microsoft Corporation this software does not work. I suppose that users of any operating system other that Windows find all .wmv files unplayable due to Microsoft’s eternal quest for market-share.

Could these clips be repackaged in a different format? Is it possible to avoid the .wmv format wherever possible or to make two versions of video files available?

author by eeekkkkpublication date Thu Apr 07, 2005 21:02author address author phone Report this post to the editors

people are learning hand over fist about this video publishing racket around here at present and positive input is better than bitchin and moaning about 'the man'

author by Ze Hammerpublication date Thu Apr 07, 2005 21:25author address author phone Report this post to the editors

I was pointing out why I couldn't read the file and informing any other users that the Mac version of Windows Media Player doesn't.

In the ideal world everything would be quicktime friendly.

You my friend should calm down.

author by Lishapublication date Thu Apr 07, 2005 22:27author address author phone Report this post to the editors

I'm a Mac user and had no problem playing the .wmv video file. Simply install the Windows media player for whatever Mac version you have (Freeware).

Windows Media Player 9 for Mac
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/13112
Mac OS X 10 higher

Windows Media Player 7.1 for Mac
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/mac71.aspx
Mac OS 8.1 or higher

A bit of research, installing the right player and codec, and your away!
