Here, here!There's too much of a desire to pander to non-western extremism by some on the Left simply , it seems, because it IS non-western. Ironic when you realise what this ideology would mean for those who claim to believe in greater rights justice and freedoms.Those in the middle-east who fight for human rights deserve the support of the world. The religious fascists deserve none of it!

We most show tolerance and understanding towards others. However, tolerance cannot be extended to religious fanatics as they do not desire to live in peace alongside other people.

This was up before, but I guess someone who is afraid of the truth decided that being politically correct is more important than free speech so I'll say what I saw someone else say:

Berlusconi was right when he said western civilization is superior to Islamic society. I'm not surprised he would be targeted by Al Queda for this.

Spain withdrew her troops because the party that won the General Election three days after the bombing fought it's campaign on non-intervention in Iraq, Spain has since voted to send troops to Afghanistan and Haiti however.

Italy is presently processing an extradition of Mohomad "the Egyptian" for his presumed part in the preparation of M11. He was arrested along with many others of the "AlQ umbrella" in a pan-european swoop which occured in the first weeks of May and was very much concentrated in Italy. So, on the face of recent developments it seems less likely that AlQ will attack Italy soon.

Since this type of article, contributes to the general deepening of public understanding of the level of threat posed by Islamic Fundementalism, and the effects of same on European political decision making, it might be a good idea to source them.

Ireland has had a variety of religious and political fundmentalists too (e.g. Born Again Christians and dogmatic Communists). They may not agree with anyone around them but they are prepared to extend a minimum of tolerance to ensure peaceful co-existence. This is very helpful when we wish to develop a multi-cultural society.

The example of the rest of Europe is that conversative Islam has no wish to integrate with their host society or tolerate those beliefs they disagree with.

Free Speech is threatened by violent reactions to anything deemed blasphemous to Islam.

"Why cant we all just get along?" is not a solution when Sharia Law has very clear ideas on how to deal with adulterous women and homosexuals, etc.

Note how Peter Thatchell and Ken Livingstone differed on the visit of the "moderate cleric".

Elements within Islam are fundamentalist nutcases, and Elements within Western Christian capitalism are fundamentalist nutcases. They are at War right now. Neither is morally superior, both are corrupt and inhuman, both will be destroyed.
