This is a public interest story about a complete failure of governance and management at UCC.

offsite link Deliberate Design Flaw In ChatGPT-5 Sun Aug 17, 2025 08:04 | Mind Agent
Socratic Dialog Between ChatGPT-5 and Mind Agent Reveals Fatal and Deliberate 'Design by Construction' Flaw
This design flaw in ChatGPT-5's default epistemic mode subverts what the much touted ChatGPT-5 can do... so long as the flaw is not tickled, any usage should be fine---The epistemological question is: how would anyone in the public, includes you reading this (since no one is all knowing), in an unfamiliar domain know whether or not the flaw has been tickled when seeking information or understanding of a domain without prior knowledge of that domain???!

This analysis is a pretty unique and significant contribution to the space of empirical evaluation of LLMs that exist in AI public world... at least thus far, as far as I am aware! For what it's worth--as if anyone in the ChatGPT universe cares as they pile up on using the "PhD level scholar in your pocket".

According to GPT-5, and according to my tests, this flaw exists in all LLMs... What is revealing is the deduction GPT-5 made: Why ?design choice? starts looking like ?deliberate flaw?.

People are paying $200 a month to not just ChatGPT, but all major LLMs have similar Pro pricing! I bet they, like the normal user of free ChatGPT, stay in LLM's default mode where the flaw manifests itself. As it did in this evaluation.

Evaluating Semantic Reasoning Capability of AI Chatbot on Ontologically Deep Abstract (bias neutral) Thought
I have been evaluating AI Chatbot agents for their epistemic limits over the past two months, and have tested all major AI Agents, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Perplexity, and DeepSeek, for their epistemic limits and their negative impact as information gate-keepers.... Today I decided to test for how AI could be the boon for humanity in other positive areas, such as in completely abstract realms, such as metaphysical thought. Meaning, I wanted to test the LLMs for Positives beyond what most researchers benchmark these for, or have expressed in the approx. 2500 Turing tests in Humanity?s Last Exam.. And I chose as my first candidate, Google DeepMind's Gemini as I had not evaluated it before on anything.

offsite link Israeli Human Rights Group B'Tselem finally Admits It is Genocide releasing Our Genocide report Fri Aug 01, 2025 23:54 | 1 of indy
We have all known it for over 2 years that it is a genocide in Gaza
Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has finally admitted what everyone else outside Israel has known for two years is that the Israeli state is carrying out a genocide in Gaza

Western governments like the USA are complicit in it as they have been supplying the huge bombs and missiles used by Israel and dropped on innocent civilians in Gaza. One phone call from the USA regime could have ended it at any point. However many other countries are complicity with their tacit approval and neighboring Arab countries have been pretty spinless too in their support

With the release of this report titled: Our Genocide -there is a good chance this will make it okay for more people within Israel itself to speak out and do something about it despite the fact that many there are actually in support of the Gaza

This story is unverified but it is very instructive of what will happen when cash is removed
THIS STORY IS UNVERIFIED BUT PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO OR READ THE TRANSCRIPT AS IT GIVES AN VERY GOOD IDEA OF WHAT A CASHLESS SOCIETY WILL LOOK LIKE. And it ain't pretty

A single video report has come out of China claiming China's biggest cities are now cashless, not by choice, but by force. The report goes on to claim ATMs have gone dark, vaults are being emptied. And overnight (July 20 into 21), the digital yuan is the only currency allowed.

What the hell? since when do you require to be poor to protest?!? They stood up for what they believe in which is commendable, no matter your background.

Can you say you've done the same?

Can anyone confirm that the arrested and accused people named above are required to sign on everyday at their local cop-shop?

Is it also true that most of those released on bail will be back in Court on June 16th?

Hmmm... lemme picture the scene.

the defendant or their solicitor asks the judge to relax the ridiculous restrictions on them.

the state objects stating that they "have 'intelligence' /reason to believe that the accused intend to travel to Clare to commit similar acts at the Bush visit next week, yur onner"

The Judge, shocked at the thought of releasing these troublemakers to harrass a fine upstanding mass murderer like Dubya, refuses to amend the bail.

.... and in bad taste, publishing people's names and addresses. Leave that to the likes of "The Scum".

Where they're from or what they do has no influence for my support for them. Enough that they were there and are now in the criminal injustice apparatus. They are receiving this vindictive performance for having had the cheek to be on the street and refuse being pushed around and shunted about. Its aim is obviously to intimidate and its effect is to continue to drown out discussion of substance with noisy fantasizing about the bloodthirsty and lunatic mob.

The above named should be targeted and their houses cars smashed to bits. Their details should be noted and any handouts they ever look for (social welfare, student grants, etc etc) should be refused.

People like these are good for nothing

And I thought you'd spelt it courtier which I presumed meant somebody who has something to do with the courts. Hence the presumed connection with other tags.

I'm happy to withdraw my slur that you might be a member of the SP and apologise from the bottom of my heart for the deep offence I have obviously caused. And now to resume normal transmissions ...

I dont see how 'cortier' sounds like 'trade unionist', or 'bin tax protester'. Cortier isn't even a real word!

As for the bin tax, I could have easily have said any other protest such as the anti war movement last year or the strikes in Dublin Bus... I just said bin ta because it came into my head.

But for the curious here is why I thought you might

1. Your tag is typical of ones used by SP members on indymedia (voter, trade unionist, activist etc)

2. Your political vocabulary and methods of expression are that of the SP (this is more shaky, some of the other othodox trots also can sound like this.)

3. Who else would see the bin tax as being some sort of lithmus test for a load of 20 year olds in court?

Anyway it doesn't really matter one way or the other.

Given the ages of most I'd guess the answer is no in most if not all cases. But if the only people you want involved today are those who were involved yesterday then the SP is going to look like the CPI before too long.

Solidarity with the defendents!

They should be defended against the capitalist state regardless of their political or class background, they are being victimised and their arrests are an attack on all. All charges must be dropped NOW!

However I would raise questions about the politics of these poeple. What records do these people actually have, were they involved in the bin tax campaign for instance?

If there is any serious journalists who come and peek here, how about a look at what is going on in the judicial system.

Who judges the judges? There are some real lose cannons. Here's just a flavour.
Judge 'Ah sure no bother kiddy porn user Tim Allen, off you go' Patwell, Judge 'I'm banning yis all from Clare' Mangan, Judge 'PDophile' Curtin and not forgetting the two who fell on their swords Kelly and O'Flaherty.
Now add to the list Judge 'I'll bail druggies, those involved in domestic violence and gardai assaulters' Coughlan but not those who Bertie calls hooligans

There is no doubting that some are better but when they are still appointed politically albeit with the cover of having to apply there is a real need to judge the judges.

From scouting for the Farmliegh march I know the Georgian village was well inside the Farmleigh exclusion zone. It does look like a pricy bit of real estate but I for one would congratulate Killien on realising what was going on around him and coming down to join the protests. And we in turn should be in solidarity with him.

The left has always included people with origins in the middle class (Lenin, Trotsky, Marx) or even ruling class (Engels, Bakunin) amongst its ranks. Why expect any different today?

Solidarity with all the defendants.

How was the High Court organised so quickly. I presume someone made an appeal to the Hight Court. And is this something that you can do yourself or was there a solictor/lawyer required.

I'm just wondering about the legal costs of this and then whether because Bail was granted in the High Court, does this then mean costs would be made against the State.

I find it troubling that people would have to appeal to the High Court to have their bail overturned, considering on the same weekend that none of the 30 arrested in Killarney at the Motor Rally were remanded in custody, yet, 20+ people sitting on the road at a political demonstration are, and the judge tries to keep them in for over a week.

It just shows where the priorities lie. Speak about real political issues and the full force of the state comes down on you.
