The Another Europe is Possible May Day weekend begins tonight at 7pm at Liberty Hall with a public meeting with Susan George (Debt Campaigner, organiser World and European Social Forums/Author/Vice-President ATTAC France), Brendan Archbold (Mandate) and Aoife ni Fhearall (Irish Anti-War Movement)

We will be taking part in the Indymedia Press Conference today at 3pm, Indymedia Centre, Charles St, D 1

Another Europe is Possible, the alliance of Trade Unionists, anti-war activists, anti-capitalists, community campaigners and left-political parties organising the march beginning at 12 noon at the Central Bank and traveling to Heuston Station for a Carnival of multiculturalism at 2.30pm is calling on the government and the gardai to accept the massive security build up for tomorrow is unnecessary and a waste of tax payers money.

Rory Hearne, Convenor of Another Europe is Possible said “We will be marching tomorrow at 12 noon at the Central Bank to oppose the policies of the EU leaders that are meeting in Farmleigh house. While, Blair and Berlusconi are being wined and dined their troops are involved in the bloody and unjustified occupation of Iraq. We are calling on Ahern to stop the use of Shannon by US troops and to publically oppose any EU army. May Day is workers day and trade unionists and community campaigners fighting the sell off of their local authority estates will be joining in our march and carnival”

“It has been made explicitly clear that all protests on May Day will be peaceful and that the hype by the state and government has failed to intimidate the mass anti-war and anti-government protests that they hoped to avoid. We ask the question- why doesn’t the government put a fraction of the resources it is putting into policing May Day into our crumbling schools and hospitals?”

In anticipation of all those speakers I fall into a coma.
In my dreams there speakers other than McKenna, Joe 'Virtual Trot' Higgins, Mary Lou, O'Reilly, and the now obligatory "two more than yours SWP speakers" with their single transferable speeches.

Do boring sheep dream of the same speakers all the time?

They will linking up with the guards, to stand shoulder to shoulder with them in policing the 'movement.
Kieran Allen and Lurch as a double act - most likely.
