offsite link Taxpayers Are Charged for the BBC Whether They Like it or Not Sat Nov 22, 2025 11:00 | Charlotte Gill
It's bad enough that all UK TV users are forced to fund the BBC via a TV licence. But it's worse than that, says Charlotte Gill: millions of pounds of taxpayers' money are handed to the corporation via backdoor channels.

World Kindness Day may have passed you by. But it won't have passed by your children, whose school will have been sure to teach that climate action and open borders are essential elements of 'kindness', says Steven Tucker.

Read what happened when an Extinction Rebellion meeting was disrupted by a protester. Seems they can give it out but have no intention of putting up with it themselves.

Dublin European Institute & University College Dublin will host, in association with the Slovenian Embassy, an international conference on the theme of Art and Politics: The Imagination of Opposition in Europe - April 29 to 30, 2004.

Dublin European Institute & University College Dublin will host, in association with the Slovenian Embassy, an international conference on the theme of Art and Politics: The Imagination of Opposition in Europe - April 29 to 30, 2004.

We look forward, with an international panel of artists, art historians, critics, academics and arts professionals, to comparing and contrasting the European experience of art’s intersection of politics. A key case study of this conference will be the example of Slovenia’s, Neue Slowenische Kunst. This collective project, starting from 1980, is an important starting point for analyses of how art and artists react and interact with different political hegemonies – underlying shared and differentiated experiences in both contemporary and historical Europe.

While the programme is being finalised, panellists thus far confirmed include: Judith Devlin, Bojana Kunst, Marina Grzinic Mauhler, Paula Murphy, Misko Suvakovic and Alexei Monroe. The conference registration fee is just €25 for professionals and €10 at a concessionary rate – including students.

i hope that this art and politics forum will take the time to come down and view the indymedia centre and see the exhibition.

for me this is the huge area, still not looked at by the political heads, or this movement not looked at by the art heads

but things are strarting to change
its brilliant that this festival is happening

as i previously stated-
"think global/ art local"
"today art stuff is mostly something to look at- we have become a very viewing culture
we go into gallery, view stuff, respond in thoughts or words and thats about it
this exhib can be an "open participitive system"- anyone can come and see- be excited, then most importantly- get involved
thats the key
if its exciting more and more will get invovled
and it is exciting
the way life should be"

a quote from the american frank lloyd wright from the 1920`s
"if the day ever dawns when science, art and religion become as one- we will then have that which is missing today"

http://easa.antville.org/stories/474697/
might amuse you or provoke a reaction- it did then

art to communicate
art to challenge
