offsite link Thank Lockdowns for the Worst Budget in History Sat Nov 22, 2025 13:00 | Will Jones
We're a week away from the most painful Budget in history thanks largely to the eye-watering cost of lockdown. Yet Baroness Hallett says next time the Government must be ready to go harder and faster. This is insanity.

It's bad enough that all UK TV users are forced to fund the BBC via a TV licence. But it's worse than that, says Charlotte Gill: millions of pounds of taxpayers' money are handed to the corporation via backdoor channels.

World Kindness Day may have passed you by. But it won't have passed by your children, whose school will have been sure to teach that climate action and open borders are essential elements of 'kindness', says Steven Tucker.

category dublin | summit mobilisations | news report author Saturday April 10, 2004 00:02author by mbauthor email nili at postmaster dot co dot uk Report this post to the editors

looking for a squad....

Two new groups in Dublin looking for people to join them.

warm april showers and cold moons in autumn
good friends and lovers, you know when you've got 'em
replacing government with anarchy!
these are a few of my favourite things...
---
greetings from a canadian radical cheerleader!!

i am a radical cheerleader from vancouver, bc, canada, here for several months with another radical cheerleader. since we are not actively involved in planning for mayday actions, we are looking to find out whether a dublin rc squad exists, or whether anybody would be interested in forming one.

interested???????

since there are already two of us, even one interested person would be enough to start up a squad.

we are familiar with a buncha cheers, and if we got our act together could write one or two new ones...

please email me if you know of a way to contact anyone in a current squad, or want to cheer. anyone and everyone.....past present and future RCs.....as always, no experience necessary!

email me at nili@postmaster.co.uk

squad set!

Bowl a strike, not a spare — Revolution everywhere!
The original Revolutionary Anarchist Bowling League, RABL, was founded in Minneapolis in the mid-1980s. We are now planning to establish an Irish group this summer.
We were a revolutionary anarchist collective that participate in various actions locally and nationally. We are anarchists who believe in anti-authoritarian organization against racism, sexism, homophobia, and capitalism. We believe that an anarchist revolutionary insurrection was ultimately necessary to achieve a free and equalitarian society.

If you anyone is interested in helping to establish RABL in Ireland, please email me or keep an eye out for me on May Day and on all the demos during the Bush visit to Ireland.

If you are looking to set up autonomous anarchist cells/groups then a first step would be to get involved with the people already doing stuff here. A good start would be on Apr 18th for the Mayday organising group in the Teachers Club for the Grassroots. Although there are other autonomous anarchists in the city, they dont really have any formal structure for contact, the GG meetings are the best place to start.

"We believe that an anarchist revolutionary insurrection was ultimately necessary to achieve a free and equalitarian society. "

Until you think about it.

I'm firmly convinced that an urban society would be unable to function at all without a government. Libertarianism, to me at least, seems like a much more sensible course of action.

"I'm firmly convinced that an urban society would be unable to function at all without a government. Libertarianism, to me at least, seems like a much more sensible course of action."

a convincing argument, but...

anarchism (according to the variety that some subscribe to) is essentially libertarian communism.

i don't think that urban society (with pollution, traffic, homelessness, overconsumption, a political structure based on appropriation, etc. etc.) currently operates very effectively, and that is with lots of government.

besides, most anarchists don't oppose government exactly. anarchists oppose those forces which appropriate control of government ("anarchy" = no ruler). in a more anarchist society, there may be no "government", but simply for the reason that everyone participates actively in "government" political processes.

now, if you excuse me, there is trash on my urban street which needs cleaning up.
