Thursday March 25, 2004 14:08 by Spirit of Shannon Peace Camp

Shannon is the place to be on June 25th
Forget following leaders and banners, just come to Shannon as an individual on 25 June, and shout the truth on Bush, War, Ahern, lies and killings of innocent people.
If not I, Who? If not now, When? from the Spirit of the Shannon Peace Camp
Bushs 100,000 welcomes: Céad Míle Fáilte
US President George W Bush has invited himself to Ireland as part of his re-election campaign on a war-mongering platform. You and I, as individuals, should give him not one, but 100,000 + welcomes.
Lets not bother about following banners and leaders, that sort of activity only leads to more conflict. Lets all just turn up at Shannon or wherever the main Bush visit takes place on or about 25th June 2004. Lets turn this into a People’s Peace Camp. Lets take back our country, or your country, and take back world peace from the hands of warmongers. Wherever you live around this interconnected world, take time out to come to this peace camp. June is a beautiful month in Ireland, ideal for walking and hiking, and the Shannon region, and its airport needs to be turned back into a haven of peace, not a US war-base.
Come to Shannon on or before 25th June and spend a few days walking on the famous Burren national park, near Shannon Airport.
For those who love the water or sailing, there will be boating regatta, at Rineanna, near Shannon airport, no entry fees, no bureaucracy, just arrive with your boat, big or small, and enjoy the free fishing and dolphin watching on the Shannon estuary.
You may even see a few HAWKS passing by. This will be called the Rineanna Regatta, and takes place from 24th June 2004 to 27th June 2004, or whenever suits you.
It rains occasionally at Shannon, so bring light rainwear, good walking or hiking shoes, and a small tent for camping. There are no mosquitoes in Ireland, and no snakes, except perhaps in Leinster House, our parliament.
Ignore all calls for organised demonstrations elsewhere, or threats by authorities. George Bush and the Irish Government have seen what the brave Spanish people did to their lying and threatening government. This should, and will be, a peaceful happening bringing people from all over the world to speak out against war, violence, the killing of innocent people everywhere, and especially against injustices and Resource Wars by greedy elites.
How does one get to Shannon? From outside Ireland, Shannon is an international airport on the beautiful west cost of Ireland. From within Ireland and even Europe, trains, ferries, busses, are all easily available. It is also great walking and cycling country. If you want cheap accommodation bring your own tent.
Who do you contact? No one.
Take responsibility for yourself, get there and let your individual voice seek out and speak out the truth.
Watch out for regular news-postings on indymedia.org and indymedia.ie.
This is just the beginning,
If Bush has his way, it is the beginning of the end.
Stop Bush now. A large effective and peaceful international demonstration at Shannon will ensure that Bush is not re-elected next November. Only you can do it. Remember the words of Rabbi Hillel 2000 years ago.
“If not I, who? If not now, when?”
