Special games for special people.

The world police and firefighters games, the Olympics for the blue block has just kicked off in Barcelona. Your online intrepid reporter went along for a goo.
Don't worry as Hunter S. Thompson proved whilst recording Fear and Loathing you really can deal with police when off your wondrous head. %-)

First off I have not seen any of the Gardaí in the photographs at the games. Not surprisingly these are games are a serious matter.
Gardaí and Police worldwide have social problems.
They often don't tell their neighbours they are police, and hide their uniforms and wear wooly hats to look "au fait with the street culture sort of thing". Others don't give a fuck, and will wear their uniform everywhere to evictions, to get on the bus for free, "you need anyone sorting out jaysus, if there here I'll do the sorting, now if it's a union matter you want sorting, well now...."

So dedicated reader, what are the special police games all about? Well you aren't the first to ask, and if you check one the history pages of the Garda/Police/riotman/ for the ireland section you will find:

all of us,
you can't go on to the radio one week and say
"If they're are any people listening who have the necesary skills and know-how to solve our fucked up society, call me" meaning :- anyone listening who hasn't as of yet sold their soul to a corporative career for more dosh than you get, or found themselves in the company of drug addicts, liars, cheats and hypocrites where you sit.

& then the next week, because a granny is shot in cold blood, decide that we need 2000 extra Gardaí and lots more rules.

YOU DONT GET ANY POINTS FOR THAT ONE MINISTER.

Rather you confirm your reputation as a manipulator of insecurity amongst the older and cherished of our community. Our older generation very rarely phone the Police who as we all know "are always there for you".
They _do_ regularly worry about their pension, you sit in the same halls of Elected Government as those who have the power to spend "the extra cash" (that did not exist before ahem) to increase their pensions.
Perhaps you could suggest to one of your slimey friends that they at long last increase the pension funds for people who have worked all their lives to make your nation.
You did not make any Celtic Tiger, Minister, you got the job to tweak the indicators.
THAT IS ALL.

The older people of our society made that Tiger, they made it with love, some made it by mistake, but they clothed, toiled, worried, sweated over their niños, who you think to presume are the product of your quite dissappointing Blackrock college career.

The Police, deal with the shite caused by your failed policies every day. They live apart because it's easier for everyone to consider them the Cunt, and yes I will write Cunt, because it's the strongest we can get online no? Because no-one goes knocking on your door and telling you what a Cunt you are.

The Police, monday to Sunday, every day have to be abused, and let's be honest, every time they have read the writing on the wall about being "cops are torturers" about "cops take drugs too", they have felt _guilt_ and _shame_. This has helped them become better people oddly enough.

You ought be thinking about why the boys and girls the lads and ladettes in the Gardaí joined up in the first place.

1. to get the bad guys.
2. to have a secure job so they don't have to rely on the miserable pension left over from your arrogant self-serving egotistical plans.
3. do you need a third?

Now we "on the left" and "on the right" traditionally give the Lads and Ladettes a bad time, that is our job, we give you all a bad time, but you know something really interesting?

WE ALL WANT TO GIVE YOU A REALLY BAD TIME. & you keep putting straws on the donkey's back and when that last straw comes, you will have a really bad time.

In Your Head Minister.

Now Mr Mc Creevy, give your elders & betters a decent living pension, decent living rewards for their life span, which as you well know is shorter than "ours" or even a well medicated / expensively health treated Minister of Government. And the rank and file Gardaí will probably thank you. If not they will vote you out and vote someone else in.

& then guess what!

dwellt on the 4star **** hotel the visiting Californian LAPD athletes are staying in. "oh they're very well behaved" (cleaning lady).
Apparantly one visiting American law enforcement agent had to be turned back for carrying his gun through the airport.
Now Lads and Mná lads, we know you don't have guns yet, not even the telescopic batons, but when you do, you must remember that in the post Sept11 world you can't carry your magnum or "piece" as some call it onto a passenger airline not even "hey sure if there's any trouble I'll sort it out for you" excuse works.
