The BBC's Director of Comedy wants to "save the sitcom". But the sitcom is only endangered because most of them stopped being funny. As To the Manor Born reminds us, British comedy has lost its class, says Finlay McLaren.

We're a week away from the most painful Budget in history thanks largely to the eye-watering cost of lockdown. Yet Baroness Hallett says next time the Government must be ready to go harder and faster. This is insanity.

It's bad enough that all UK TV users are forced to fund the BBC via a TV licence. But it's worse than that, says Charlotte Gill: millions of pounds of taxpayers' money are handed to the corporation via backdoor channels.

Posible UK State Sponsored Murder

category international | anti-war / imperialism | news report author Friday July 18, 2003 13:00author by The Questioner Report this post to the editors

David Kelly Missing Now Dead?

UK Government adviser David Kelly, who is alleged to be the BBC's main source for a story claiming Downing Street had "sexed up" a dossier about Iraqi weapons of mass destruction went missing on Thursday, and now a body yet to identified has turned up. The question now is, was he murdered and by whom?

It seems mightily coincendental that the one man who might be able to lend some serious weight to the BBC's assertions concerning the Iraq dossier is now found dead lying in the woods.

If it is found that he was murdered then it will show that Blairs government is increasingly becoming more desperate in its bid to clear its name of war crimes, so deperate that it is willing kill its own citizens. Only time will tell!

yeah, i was watching this on the telly this morning. There's no telling yet whether it was murder, suicide or natural causes. I doubt if we'll ever find the truth though. If it was the secret services, you can be sure that they will have covered their tracks well.

In light of recent events it is now believed that Icarus was pushed and that the feathers were attached later as with the story being invented as a cover up. The MoD. as usual, denies any link; stating that if you do fly too near to the Sun, your wings will melt. The MoD also express sympathy to the Icarus family and friends.

The hit on David Kelly appears to be the work of
British Intelligence. Kelly knew too much about
the fabrication of the WMD data, and he was talking to the press. They made it look like a suicide to coverup further investigation.

The death of Dr Kelly will no doubt be announced as suicide, but when we look at the motives and
everything else, it makes a lot more sense that he was eliminated. We must remind ourselves that the
British Intelligence services like so many others have a wide range of resources at their disposal
for the elimination of individuals. Deaths can be made to look like heart-attacks or whatever. If you
consider for a moment, there are many many types of drugs used routinely by doctors and other medical
professional in their daily practise, that by simple injection can be easily cause death and in such
a way, to make it look 'natural'.

You will also notice for the moment that the focus has very nicely shifted from the faking of the documents
to the reaction of politicans over the death of Kelly.
