Coalition of the Coerced

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Friday February 28, 2003 01:08author by Jim Costello Report this post to the editors

The Institute for Policy Studies has published a report analyzing the relationship between the US and the nations of the Security Council and those in Bush's non-UN coalition. They examine for each country economic, political and military leverage. They conclude that it is not a 'coalition of the willing'. They find evidence of coercion, of bullying and bribery. And all of these govts. are opposed to their own people. These bribed nations represent barely a tenth of the worlds population. Far more impressive are those nations that have stood up to the US bully tactics.

And if the bribery and coercion is successful and a majority of the security council backs the US, then the war becomes justified. Morality depends on the success of the bribery. This is the principed position of the leaders of Irish mainstream political parties.

Fox and Cretin denied that the USA had placed pressure on either Canada or Mexico.

The same day Chile and Mexico displayed their ambassadors to the UN security council in front of the Geurnica copy painting these men denied any pressure had been put on their governments to support the USA.

I am pleased to inform the readership that this painting a copy of the orginal by Picasso is no longer hidden from the cameras.
Readers may recall the US delegation had pressured the UN to cover Picasso´s homage to the victims of NAZI divebombing in the Basque town of Geurnica.
