Thirty Left-wing MPs have written to Ofcom to press it to censor X under the Online Safety Act. The evidence of 'hate' on the platform is threadbare, but it's obvious why they want to clip its wings, says Laurie Wastell.

Aonghus Hourihane latest news.

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Friday October 25, 2002 19:34author by UCD student Report this post to the editors

It's been revealed that Aonghus Hourihane is in the centre of a sleazy sex scandal with SU employees

Aonghus Hourihane's reputation is set to hit rock bottom when it is revealed that Fianna Fail SU President Aonghus Hourihane is engaged in a sexual harassment case.

It's been revealed to me by a reliable source that it is sexual harassment of SU staff that is central to his dispute with the student counsellor.

Aonghus Hourihane's reputation has hit an all time low over the past week. The vast majority of students hate him for his support of the government's proposal to re-introduce fees for 3rd level.

If Hourihane fails to keep these allegations of sexual harassment from the college papers his resignation looks likely.

I'm not in UCD Belfield, but I would imagine that Hourihane also actively campaigned for a 'Yes' vote in the Treaty Treaty Referendum? Another reason to hate Hourihane.

The above information about Aengus is incorrect and confused. He is not alleged to have sexually harrassed employees of the student union.

He has verbally abused employees of the union (allegedly), and most recently has sacked one such employee for gross misconduct. In fact it is Aengus who should be sacked for gross misconduct.

Allegations regarding sexual harrassment and Aengus refer to him allegedly sexually harrasing members, not employees, of his union.

It is for this reason that Aengus is spending a large amount of students money on legal fees defending himself . And yet he is set to push for disaffiliation from USI on the grounds that USI is wasting students money!

As for the assumption that Aengus campaigned for a yes vote - rubbish. Aengus doesn't campaign for anything but himself.
