Stop Irish Greyhounds from being sent by the IGB to china.
This demonstration today is to call for a BOYCOTT of goods from China and to appeal to the Ireland-Chinese Business Association to condemn all barbarity to dogs including Irish Greyhounds in China. We ask them to speak out on behalf of the tortured souls who are not protected by any Chinese legislation as none exists. We need their help to support change. This cannot be ignored any longer by businesses trying to entice Irish-Chinese trade links. Stop turning a blind eye to unacceptable practices that have been exposed. Many Irish people are horrified by how dogs are treated.
Many Ex- Racing dogs have been shipped from Ireland to China, a country where dogs are routinely being boiled alive. The Irish Government have stood idly by as the IGB condone the export of ex- racing dogs. Many of the Irish dogs are ultimately at risk of being boiled alive in China for the meat trade. The Chinese don't care, the Irish Government don't care, The IGB couldnt care less either or they would not be allowing this.
We urge a boycott of all travel to China and ask the Irish people to shun all Chinese goods and services until this injustice is stopped.
The Irish Greyhound Board in an effort to further exploit Irish greyhounds export their unwanted ex-racing dogs to China and other parts of Asia, these dogs will die in China by the most barbaric methods as part of China's huge dogmeat trade. The horrific picture above shows a terrified greyhound being pushed into a giant pot of boiling water at a busy Chinese market. This behavior towards sentient beings is well documented.
Since 1963, Thousands of Australian ex racing greyhounds were killed at the Macau.Canidrome race track, but since last December Qantas and Cathay Pacific have refused to transport any more dogs from Australia to Macau. This created a shortage of racers at the Canidrome that was replaced by Irish greyhounds. No protection is afforded to dogs in China. The Irish Government is aware of the reports about the shamefull Chinese treatment of dogs but they sanction exports to china saying “once appropriate animal health and welfare certification requirements are met, dogs, including greyhounds, may be exported internationally, including to China”.
“Once these greyhounds have ceased to perform or win races, they will be disposed of in a dog slaughterhouse, beaten to death or boiled alive, the dogs flesh put on sale at markets or sold to restaurants,”
We condemn all animal violations but stopping gentle dogs from unspeakable torture is regrettably at the discretion of the chinese, Supporting trade links between our countries is at the discretion of customers who are being asked to BOYCOTT CHINESE GOODS.
Many Chinese people are Kind and compassionate to animals, let us get them support to help stop the dog meat trade victims.
