COMMUNITY MEETINGS: "The Alternative to Political Parties"

category cork | politics / elections | event notice author Wednesday December 04, 2013 21:22author by D O'C Report this post to the editors

Meetings to encourage the selection of People's Candidates in our local communities

There are some events taking place in the coming weeks to try to advance the building of our movement for democracy, if you can support these it would help. In particular, we are asking people from county Cork as well as from Waterford, Tipperary and Kerry to join with us on Thurs 5th for a meeting to encourage the selection of People's Candidates in our local communities.

Note that the events are hosted by The People's Convention, everyone welcome, however no Political Party banners or promotions are welcome, we ask participants to focus on the subject matter of the events and to leave aside any promotion of personal philosophy or 'ism' - in the interests of achieving the broadest possible unity.

THUR. 5th December 7:45pm - The SMA Parish Hall, Wilton - Cork city.

(We have already held such a meeting in Gurranabraher and intend to bring it to every Local Electoral Area possible, anyone interested in county Cork or elsewhere should make contact with us)

Finally, a reminder that we have weekly discussion meetings at Ionad an Phobail (Resource Centre), 99 Douglas Street, Cork and you are encouraged to attend. We have a busy programme up to end of year and expect significant development in 2014, including during the elections in May.

We encourage you to be active, talk to us to explore the possibilities,

Your sincerely,

Diarmaid Ó Cadhla (Mobile 086- 3805005, @GraTire on Twitter)
