When Dicey summarised the principle of parliamentary sovereignty he wrote: "Parliament can do everything but make a woman a man and a man a woman." Alas, thanks to the European Court of Human Rights, that's no longer true.

offsite link Another Clue Pointing to an American Origin of the Virus Thu Apr 25, 2024 14:18 | Will Jones
It's increasingly clear the virus leaked from a lab in Wuhan. But could it have been made in the USA? Will Jones suggests the behaviour of the Chinese Government before and after the sequence was published gives us a clue.

Dublin Zoo, guilty of stupidity and greed.

category dublin | animal rights | opinion/analysis author Friday August 09, 2013 23:02author by Bernie Wright - Alliance for Animal Rights-AFARauthor email bigbrownrat at gmail dot comauthor address AFAR. PO box 4734. D 1 Report this post to the editors

Zoo animal prisons are morally wrong and should be consigned to history

AFAR wish to condemn the incident at Dublin zoo which occurred two days ago which left a two year old child unconscious, and with deep stomach and arm injuries caused by an animal attack by a Tapir . Apart from the obvious stupidity of allowing a child into an enclosure confining a wild animal with their young, Dublin Zoo is guilty of imprisoning, confining, drugging and using wild animals for profit on an ongoing basis.
They [Dublin Zoo] admit themselves on their website that tapirs are always found near water and usually run into rivers to escape predators such as the jaguar. Where could this Mother and newborn escape to in the Zoo enclosure, to flee from what most likely was perceived as a threat from hearing the human child scream.
Zoos, prisons for the innocent...always

They [Dublin Zoo] admit themselves on their website that tapirs are always found near water and usually run into rivers to escape predators such as the jaguar. Where could this Mother and newborn escape to in the Zoo enclosure, to flee from what most likely was perceived as a threat from hearing the human child scream.
The animals have no choice nor have they committed any crime to be deprived of their natural habitat and freedom by Dublin Zoo, simply to amuse people lacking in empathy who visit these animal prisons.
We in AFAR urge people to consider the animals deprivation and unnatural lives, the only option the animals have are to stay confined regardless of whatever spin the Zoo put on their actions with their fluffy television programmes. Zoos do not care about their prisoners, they just want to make money off the misery of the unfortunate animals.
AFAR wants ‘menageries ‘ to be a thing of the past. Non-human animals have the right to live their lives in their natural surroundings without fear , confinement and persecution by humans for any reason.
Travel and Nature films are more real than seeing distressed psychotic animals in Dublin Zoo.
• We offer our sympathies to the injured child for being involved in this serious ill-thought out dangerous event staged by DUBLIN Zoo staff. The child’s mother was also wounded after attempting to bring a halt to the extremely rare attack from the usually docile creature, which occurred during a supervised “encounter” visit to the Brazilian tapir enclosure
