category national | rights, freedoms and repression | event notice author Monday February 27, 2012 19:31author by Saoirse Report this post to the editors

A protest march will be held in Dublin on Wednesday February 29 against the Septic Tank charge. It will assemble at the Spire on O'Connell Street at and from there march to Leinster House.

It is being organised by the people of West Galway and all are invited to join and voice their protest at this and all the other unjust taxes, charges and cuts.

Hi !

This protest went ahead as planned - we assembled at the Spire and thousands of us marched from there to the gates of Leinster House in Kildare Street : once there , most of the crowd stayed at the speakers platform outside Buswells Hotel whilst about 100 of us crossed the barriers and made our presence felt directly outside the gates of Leinster House.

An earlier - minor - incident in O'Connell Street , involving an ex-Fianna Fail Leinster House member , helped to highlight the feeling of anger that was present and set the mood for the march.
More info and a few pics re this protest can be seen at the 'Related Link' , below.
