Former prime minister Margaret Thatcher knew about politicians sexually abusing children , according to the article linked to below - but failed to act against them. According to the UK campaigning MP , Simon Danczuk , ""There is no doubt about it now, from what we know, that she turned a blind eye to people who were quite clearly paedophiles ". The turned blind eye at the top allowed the likes of paedophile MP Sir Cyril Smith to regard themselves as virtually untouchable. Lynne insistence that despite Smith's paedophilia , he had been overall a good constituency MP has been criticized by Martin Digan ,a former manager of the Knowl View children’s home in Rochdale , who says that he attempted to raise concerns about Cyril Smith with Ms Lynne on several occasions: |
