'Route Irish' a feature length essay film on the history of anti-war movement in Ireland from 2002-2007 will screen at King Street Arts ( http://www.kingstreetarts.com ) during the West Belfast Feile. A group campaigning against the Lisbon Treaty has claimed that people are being kept ignorant about what is in the treaty. The People Before Profit Alliance has launched its campaign calling on people to vote No in the upcoming referendum. This article from the LA Times by Bill McKibben presents the case that the situation with the Earth's environment is far worse than has been admitted so far and he reports on the latest scientific paper from climate scientist James Hansen which in the opening paragraph he says: "if humanity wishes to preserve a planet similar to that on which civilization developed and to which life on Earth is adapted, paleoclimate evidence and ongoing climate change suggest that CO2 will need to be reduced from its current 385 ppm to at most 350 ppm." read full story / add a comment

When a local journalist and editor of a West Belfast Newspaper recently voiced his opinion concerning the neglect of duties and responsibilities by the Member of Parliament for West Belfast. Many in the community considered this a breakthrough in fair and honest reporting.
