British doctors working in Gaza have described the territory as a ?slaughterhouse,? where the patients they are treating are severely malnourished.

Plastic surgeons and orthopedic specialists from the UK are based at the Amal and Nasser hospitals in Khan Younis in the south of the territory.

Dr. Tom Potokar, a plastic surgeon specializing in burn injuries, has worked in Gaza 16 times but said this mission had revealed a level of destruction far greater than his last visit in 2023,

Afri is currently organizing a book tour to promote Michael McCaughan’s book on the Corrib Gas controversy: The Price of Our Souls: Gas, Shell and Ireland. The book was launched in Dublin on the 4th January 2008.

The Mayo launch took place in Glenamoy, Erris, Co. Mayo on July 10th. The guest speaker was Mark Garavan and Robbie McVeigh spoke at the Derry launch on September 4th. A similar event will be organised in Galway on September 16th with guest speaker, Rita Ann Higgins.

The Minister has made a career out of stating the obvious but this time he has surpassed himself. While he accepts that the increased fuel bills are causing concern, the Minister then states that his colleague Mary Hanafin is monitoring the impact on pensioners. In fact there is no need to monitor anything – the price rises in both gas and electricity and in the basic cost of a bag of coal are breath-taking and will force many pensioners to go without adequate warmth this winter. Ogra Shinn Fein have produced a youth election broadcast for the upcoming by election in Enniskillen on Wednesday 17 September.

Sinn Féin Environment and Natural Resources Spokesperson Martin Ferris TD has severely criticised a decision by the Department of the Environment to grant planning permission without approval from An Bord Pleanála to Shell E&P Limited for a key section of the Corrib onshore pipeline at Glengad in County Mayo.

Planning permission was granted via the controversial Strategic Infrastructure Act.
