![]() The 1% Network will be holding an open meeting to discuss and organise the walking tour around the heartland of the golden circle. If you want to help publicise the tour and are interested in hearing more about the 1% Network then come along to Seomra Spraoi at 7.30pm, Thursday 9th September. The tour itself takes place on the 9th October and will take in the private mansions, corporate headquarters, secret meeting spots and private banks of the 1% who own 34% of the wealth. |

Jump To Comment: 1 2 3 4Sounds interesting. Unfortunately I won't be there on the date because I live too far away. But I would like to see an account of the tour. Anyway, good luck.
Whats the purpose of the walk?
Can't make the meeting myself but this looks like a very good and necessary initiative. Hope no one minds if I throw in my twopence worth on the subject of the name?
It's an excellent idea to highlight the 1% who own most of the wealth and power in Irish society especially when everyone else is telling us to look at fellow working people as the enemy (public sector workers, asylum seekers, etc etc). But if the idea is to organise the 99% against the 1%, then shouldn't we be the '99% Network'? Doesn't that emphasise that we are the vast majority, that we want to organise that vast majority against the tiny minority in control? Isn't it better to name it after our side than to name it after the enemy?
This is just a suggestion and it's not really a big deal. I just thought I'd speak now then forever hold my peace. To be honest you could call it the Bonzo Dog Doodah Band and I'll still be with you if you're organising any decent fightback.
What is the difference between this and the social solidarity network that was formed at the end of last year? Has the SSN disappeared?
