It is clear that what happened at Anglo on Saturday was far more serious than the scuffle at Leinster House on Tuesday night. The corporate media have clearly decided to play this one down - with good cause. Dozens of cops deployed to remove four people and a banner. Dozens more attacking people in broad daylight on Dawson Street. I believe that members of the public (including at least one older citizen) were verbally lashing the cops out of it for what they were doing.
good to get that on video. disgraceful how a few people having a peaceful protest on Anglo's porch (afterall we all own Anglo!) got abused. they should ahve been left.
don't think "let the banks burn" is a good slogan. It raises questions about jobs in banks. What is Éirigí's position on bank workers? also people think about their small savings in banks and instantly ask questions when you shout "let the banks burn"
Earlier, there were minor scuffles with gardaí when Éirígí commenced a march past Anglo Irish Bank.
Gardaí had cordoned off the bank while the garda mounted unit and plain clothed officers patrolled the area.
