This is a public interest story about a complete failure of governance and management at UCC.

offsite link Deliberate Design Flaw In ChatGPT-5 Sun Aug 17, 2025 08:04 | Mind Agent
Socratic Dialog Between ChatGPT-5 and Mind Agent Reveals Fatal and Deliberate 'Design by Construction' Flaw
This design flaw in ChatGPT-5's default epistemic mode subverts what the much touted ChatGPT-5 can do... so long as the flaw is not tickled, any usage should be fine---The epistemological question is: how would anyone in the public, includes you reading this (since no one is all knowing), in an unfamiliar domain know whether or not the flaw has been tickled when seeking information or understanding of a domain without prior knowledge of that domain???!

This analysis is a pretty unique and significant contribution to the space of empirical evaluation of LLMs that exist in AI public world... at least thus far, as far as I am aware! For what it's worth--as if anyone in the ChatGPT universe cares as they pile up on using the "PhD level scholar in your pocket".

According to GPT-5, and according to my tests, this flaw exists in all LLMs... What is revealing is the deduction GPT-5 made: Why ?design choice? starts looking like ?deliberate flaw?.

People are paying $200 a month to not just ChatGPT, but all major LLMs have similar Pro pricing! I bet they, like the normal user of free ChatGPT, stay in LLM's default mode where the flaw manifests itself. As it did in this evaluation.

Evaluating Semantic Reasoning Capability of AI Chatbot on Ontologically Deep Abstract (bias neutral) Thought
I have been evaluating AI Chatbot agents for their epistemic limits over the past two months, and have tested all major AI Agents, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Perplexity, and DeepSeek, for their epistemic limits and their negative impact as information gate-keepers.... Today I decided to test for how AI could be the boon for humanity in other positive areas, such as in completely abstract realms, such as metaphysical thought. Meaning, I wanted to test the LLMs for Positives beyond what most researchers benchmark these for, or have expressed in the approx. 2500 Turing tests in Humanity?s Last Exam.. And I chose as my first candidate, Google DeepMind's Gemini as I had not evaluated it before on anything.

offsite link Israeli Human Rights Group B'Tselem finally Admits It is Genocide releasing Our Genocide report Fri Aug 01, 2025 23:54 | 1 of indy
We have all known it for over 2 years that it is a genocide in Gaza
Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has finally admitted what everyone else outside Israel has known for two years is that the Israeli state is carrying out a genocide in Gaza

Western governments like the USA are complicit in it as they have been supplying the huge bombs and missiles used by Israel and dropped on innocent civilians in Gaza. One phone call from the USA regime could have ended it at any point. However many other countries are complicity with their tacit approval and neighboring Arab countries have been pretty spinless too in their support

With the release of this report titled: Our Genocide -there is a good chance this will make it okay for more people within Israel itself to speak out and do something about it despite the fact that many there are actually in support of the Gaza

This story is unverified but it is very instructive of what will happen when cash is removed
THIS STORY IS UNVERIFIED BUT PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO OR READ THE TRANSCRIPT AS IT GIVES AN VERY GOOD IDEA OF WHAT A CASHLESS SOCIETY WILL LOOK LIKE. And it ain't pretty

A single video report has come out of China claiming China's biggest cities are now cashless, not by choice, but by force. The report goes on to claim ATMs have gone dark, vaults are being emptied. And overnight (July 20 into 21), the digital yuan is the only currency allowed.

Green support till 2012

category national | eu | opinion/analysis author Saturday October 10, 2009 13:49author by ud Report this post to the editors

Underspends/hyperspends and budgetary cuts

The Green Party which consists mostly of a parliamentary section and a grassroot will continue
to support FF through whatever budget cuts FF deem necessary to the Irish economy without
question until 2012. it really turns the spotlight onto FG's failure to capture anybody's imagination
save the uber-blonde professional politician types that hang out round Mr Kenny.
Yesterday 09/10/09 Minister Gormley believed that he had the media in thrall from 9am-9pm
with his crack negotiating team comprised of Boyle, White and Ryan. White is notable in that
in her first joint budget with FF she stood and applauded cuts to old people, she is thus
not very bright (low wattage).

Yesterday's Irish Times leaked the fact that (again) the Dept of Education is guilty of a
critical underspend and that Greens like Cuffe could play round with the 356million pot
of cash in a manner which would give the Greens something to put on their election
literature when they start tramping the pavements looking for votes in 2012.

How cynical a bunch of Parliamentaries they are, who have used their parliamentary
influence to support proposal after proposal, bill after bill by FF without the say so
of the Grassroot. Indeed they have put quite a cosmetic face on their decision-making
by calling meetings and conventions to rubber-stamp all that has been decided.
Some activists and media actually bought into these cynical manouevres and allowed
the small grassroot angry party be king-makers for the day.

Three things were required for Governmenatal survival and those three things will be achieved
by the Green party, thus pushing the opposition into the Ha'penny place:

i) The ratification of Lisbon II ( 09/10/09 : ratified by Dáil Eireann)
ii) JCP support for NAMA (Expected today 10/10/09)
iii). The passing of the 2009 Bugdget (to be achived under the new PFG).

Before the recess the Greens who always did support the programme for Govt pushed
through a raft of guillotined debates including the Crime Bill (2009) and the Criminalisation
for Blasphemy. Anyone who is under the illusion that the Greens are democratically fighting
are just incapable of thought process beyond what is served up by the likes of Davin-Power
and Bird.

It really does point to utter 12 year long failure on the part of an impotent and flagging
opposition whose one hope seems sited in sweeping to power on the back of anger at
FF (this is not going to happen anytime soon dears).

I think John Gormely addicted to the limelight and a slavish media attention seeker.

Q: Have they asked for audits of DOHC/EDU before entering the Programme for Govt or do we
have to wait for the thirty year rule to find out what assurances the parliamentray party sought
on ongoing expenses scandals and NAMA before re-entering power with FF ?

Right, the Greens ratify the renegotiated programme for government and NAMA is implemented and a hairshirt budget is voted before the new year. So what? Do you think an alternative FG-Lab government would come up with something better? The rump of a future coalition is going to be FG, a traditionally pinchpenny party of big farmers, small town professionals and wannabe city big hitters. Labour isn't going to rock their boat.

As far as I'm concerned the voters didn't choose Enda and Eamon in the 2007 election. They voted for a continuation of FF with Green support. You make your bed and you lie on it until 2012. It is a good thing that FF stays the course and deals with the stinking soiled bedsheets. The voters wet and soiled the bed and should have their noses rubbed continually in it as an object lesson in political reality. They vote and they get what's coming to them.

After that Joe Higgins and People before Profit can take their chances with the electorate... but I'm not getting excited.

The Greens are trying hard to justify their complete transformation from a party of consience to a party of dellusion and lies . Just like their Fianna Fail mentors they can tell their supporters lies and tweak the system to suit any situation.
I was a green voter to my shame and i admit to total stupidity that i placed my trust in people who are incapable of honoring their promises and whos word on anything can never again be trusted.
They are now accepting full responsibility for inflicting NAMA on the Irish people and are now just as guilty as Fianna Fail for Irelands ruin.
I personally witnessed Eamon Ryan condoning IRMS security employing mercenery recruits without government checks as to whether they were criminals. His advice was to complain to the licence authority.
They will of course comply with whatever future scam that Fianna Fail choose to pull on the people and will blame their cowardice on the present difficulties that was not of their making. BUT NOW IT IS OF THEIR MAKING.

I used to vote for the Greens so this weekend is a sad time. Then I picked up the Sunday Tribune today and it gets worse.

Ken Foxe tells how Gormley used the ferry to Holyhead to save the planet (how would a scheduled flight finish off the planet?) and got picked up by a limo at great expense, and how on another occasion he too had the donoghue limo service between terminals at Heathrow airport.

Gormley was on RTE lunchtime news today about this - he did not know about it. yes it cost too much but we poor Ministers are at the mercy of these terrible public servants who arrange things, and do not tell us that these limos are coming or the cost. Sob sob.

it gets worst because the Tribune tells us that in 2006 Gormley claimed over €14,000 turning up money for travel costs getting to the Dail. now as he preaches cycling and as its a short cycle ride from Ringend where he lives to the Dail he did not have any travel costs.

Yet he legally can get all this money tax free. It is immoral and unethical for him to claim it - it is robbing the taxpayer.

Did Eamonn Ryan who also lives near the Dail claim the tuning up money I wonder. It is €61.53 per day and they dont have to sign in.

other questionable expenses were recouped from the taxpayer - over €12,500 for redc to do research in his Dublin South East constituency and almost €9000 to revamp his website. Then there were big printing bills for his political literature. He is calling for vouched expenditure - how does this help when it means the taxpayer continues to pay. Anyone can ring up the most expensive service provider, place an order and say send the invoice to the Dail (ie taxpayer?)

Read the Tribune - there's much more and its shocking.

The Greens must be held to account for reneging on their former commitments, particularly to the opposition to the Corrib Gas Project in its present unacceptable form.
