Wednesday September 23, 2009 14:51 by Darragh O'Connor - SIPTU Community Campaign doconnor at siptu dot ie SIPTU Organising, Liberty Hall, Dublin 1 1890 747 881

National Demo - 30th Sept - 1pm - Parnell Sq.
30th Septmeber, 1pm, Parnell Square, Dublin - Thousands of Community workers, activists and ordinary people will protest against the current round of cuts and those proposed in McCarthy's "Bord Snip Nua" report.
Free Money - Nama Dollar There has been a great response to the Wednesday 30th September protest with dozens of organisations support the campaign. These include ICTU, SIPTU, IMPACT, UNITE, Dublin Council of Trade Unions; the Community Sector Employers Forum, PLANET, the Community Platform, the Community Workers Co-Op, Pavee Point, CDP’s, Community Employment, Citywide Drug Crisis Campaign, National Women’s Council... to name but a few.
The whole sector is mobilising because of the previous savage budget cuts and the “ bord snip nua” McCarthy report which proposes the elimination of 6,600 jobs in the community sector.
Importantly, the Community Sector Employer bodies have urged their members and other employers to facilitate maximum turnout for the protest by releasing their workers for the march. However, we still need to encourage as many people as possibly to come along on the day. So please speak to your colleagues and other projects in your area.
A poster has been attached that we are asking people to circulate.
We have also attached a free €55 billion NAMA dollar - paid for by community projects and services.
