Music, Circus acts and if that wasn't enough Fair trade chocolate fountain..

The Freedom Café is hosting a special FamilyFun Day with chocolate fondue, circus, live music, workshops and more! Chocolate dipped goodies in overflow, circus shows, loads of live music,kids workshops on how to have fun recycling your packages, face painting,raffles and much more happening - all this you can find in the Freedom Caféon Sunday 2nd August from 2pm till 7pm. A whole day of fun for the entirefamily!

So come along, indulge yourselves in chocolate fondue madness and enjoy some really good music, all for free!
The Circus Culture will entertain with various circus acts, includingjuggling balls, clubs and even fire. Live music during the day by Sumbrellas, Martina & her 10 year old Diva daughter -Rihanna Flaherty and Mark Timoney.
Sumbrellas was formed in Galway in July 2009 and has been wowing audiences ever since. Theband consists of Kentucky native Chris White on guitar and vocals, Galwayman Emmet O'Malley on guitar, harmony vocals and mandolin, and Italian-bornFederico Betti on violin and mandolin. Their sound is a fusion of folk,rock, bluegrass and whatever else seems to pop into the mix. They areplanning on recording an EP in the coming months and to perform theirunique and impressive take on Americana-Galway-Italicana all around thecountry.

Both Martina and her daughter Rihanna Flaherty have been singingsince the early days of their lives. Martina has spent the last few yearsplaying in bars and hotels when travelling around with her music. “It’sbeen quite a journey. I’ve played gigs in some wonderful places and somerather scary, up and down the country. I’ve played folk, country, soul,funk, blues and with various bands so you could possibly call me a musicalprostitute” she says with a big smile, “but it’s been a great learning experience and I think it’s definitely help me to define my own music”. Her songs have been described as soulful and melodic.

Sligo based singersongwriter Mark Timoney is playing again after long hiatus and is currently working on a new album. His songs are a blend of socially conscious andhaunting melodies.Everyone’s welcome! The Freedom Café is located on 2-3 Middle Street,Galway. Any enquiries, please phone 091-533 637. See you there!
