Free Gig in Bray

The Garda band welcome cyclists to Bray on the Coolmine Dublin Bay Cycle this Sunday.

Positive News for Cycling & Drugs

Ireland's longest established Therapeutic Community for Drug and Alcohol Addiction, Coolmine Therapeutic Community, is staging the inaugural Dublin Bay Cycle this Sunday,19th April, to raise funds for their services. Starting in Howth, with the official flagging-off by Senator Déirdre de Búrca at 11am (registration at 10.30am), the cyclists will finish in Bray at approx 3pm. As the weather forecast is for a sunny warm day, this will provide a wonderful spectacle for participants and spectators alike.

The route will take the cyclists along the Clontarf Road to an assembly point at the O2 Arena where at 12.15; they will be escorted by Garda motorcycles to meet the Deputy Lord Mayor, Cllr Emer Costello, at the Mansion House. The cycle will continue at 1pm via Haddington Road and Strand Road to Dun Laoghaire, and Dalkey where there will be collection points. The group is scheduled to arrive in Bray at 3pm and again will have a Garda motorcycle escort through Bray to Strand Road where the Garda Band will march along the promenade to the bandstand and perform for 40 minutes. Dublin band The Pale http://www.thepale.ie will then play a free gig on the bandstand.

Intending cyclists may register in Howth at 10.30 and may also join the cycle along the route if they wish. Volunteer street collectors would be most welcome and only one hour of their time is requested at any given point.

For further information, to register for the cycle or to offer assistance please call Declan Arthur on 086 250 2298 or log on to www.coolmine.ie
