Jump To Comment: 1This belief that Gerry has been and continues to be a British agent remains an unproven allegation. The leader of the provisional republican movement has said on many occasions that he had never been a member of the I.R.A. let alone a member of the army council. Gerry has led his people from a committed republican platform in opposition to British rule in Ireland to become the architect of republicans enforcing British rule in Ireland. Gerry loves the "dissident" republicans, if they did not exist they either he or Mi5 would have to invent them. Gerry enjoys his role as a statesman of peace. A British agent, surely not?
