They certainly do. And the scandals involving Government and Big Business, and banks, wouldn't be allowed to happen in the North, either. Northern Ireland has been a By-Word for sectarian bigotry and Gerrymandering and injustice for most of the last century.
It was the cesspit of western Europe.

Also Remember, Ulster Unionists never really regarded Local Catholics as "Locals".
They were "Taigues" who should go "home" to the south if they didn't like that bastion of pure godliness known as Northern Ireland.
