Comedy night for Palestinian Students

Comedy night to support Palestinian Students
Wednesday 19th November 8:30 pm
Laughter Lounge, Eden Quay, Dublin

Following on from our pub quiz in May and thanks to all of you who attended for your help on the night, we were able to sponsor the special needs school in Bethlehem's two week summer camp and six individual students for a year's study each in Al Najah University in Nablus in the West Bank.

Students there have great difficulty in accessing education due to the restrictions in place, not least in obtaining funding to actually go to university. Semester costs per student are from 400US$ to 1000 US$
approximately, and we would like to continue the sponsorship for both the special needs school and the students next year also. We need about 5000 € to do this.

To this end, we are holdng our next event, a comedy night in the Laughter Lounge, on Wednesday 19th November. The Laughter lounge is on Eden Quay beside O'Connell Bridge.

www.laughterlounge.com

Tickets are € 25 each, with the show to start at 8:30 pm. There is a free € 5 drink if you arrive by 7:30. Please note it is best if you buy the tickets direct from me in advance as we then get 20 € for the charity, as we are not permitted to take money at the door. I can post tickets to people if this is easier than arranging to collect them on the night.

Please tell your friends !

About us:- This is an unaffiliated event arising from a group of us who visited Palestine in February this year, we were on the peace march below

http://www.indymedia.ie/article/86470

There were four of us who decided to do something positive for Palestine after the visit, and while it is not a lot in global terms, we feel that doing a little is better than otherwise doing nothing.
