Stop the Execution.

On July 16th , 2007, the Georgia board of Pardons and Paroles stayed Troy Davis' execution:

'It would not allow an execution to proceed in this state unless and until it's members are
convinced that there is no doubt as to the guilt of the accused."

It went on to assert that there was compelling evidence of his innocence that had not
been heard by the courts.

Troy is scheduled for execution on the 23rd of September 2008 at 7pm.
There will be a clemency hearing on the 12th of September 2008.

On Monday March 17th 2008 , the Georgia State Supreme Court denied Troy Davis
a new trial (4-3) despite evidence of his innocence. This allowed the death sentence to stand in the
state of Georgia and was considered a stunning and unwelcome decision which exposed
serious flaws in the series of decisions leading to the September 23rd date.

The EU Parliament has issued a resolution on the case on the tenth of July 2008.

to disallow a new trial in the face of affidavits signed by coerced witness who admitted
that they had lied .
