Sir Keir Starmer has declared that the UK will recognise a state of Palestine in September unless Israel makes peace with Hamas, in a move critics say treats statehood as a "bargaining chip" and "rewards Hamas".

Mobilise tonight to Rossport!

category mayo | rights, freedoms and repression | news report author Friday September 05, 2008 14:49author by S2Ser - Shell to Sea Report this post to the editors

Exodus starts here

A callout has come from Rossport for supporters around the country to mobilise to Rossport tonight or very early tomorrow morning in preparation for a struggle to stop Shell tomorrow.

Following the dramatic developments of last night, where eight protestors were arrested, a call has gone out from Rossport to S2S supporters arround the country. "This is Day X", one campaigner said, appealing for people to travel down tonight (Friday) or very early tomorrow morning to engage in the protest tomorrow.

Shell are expected to try to finish their preparations for the laying of the pipeline tomorrow and protestors feel that by mobilising many people to Rossport, they may be able to disrupt this work and throw a serious spanner in Shell's plans.

Those that travel tonight can expect a warm welcome as a social is planned tonight in the Rossport Solidarity Camp.

For those travelling from Dublin, contact 087 2242731 to organise a lift for yourself or to offer a lift if you have space in your car.

See everyone there!
