The Giveaway Of A Public Beach.

category wicklow | environment | opinion/analysis author Sunday August 24, 2008 20:29author by Mr.Peter Brady Alias. - Concerned Citizens Action Committee. Report this post to the editors

THE DEMOCATIC RIGHTS OF THE IRISH CITIZENS.

THIS IS OUR FOURTH STATEMENT.

Dear Citizens and Friends.

We wish to inform you that we have received wonderful news from Ms. Kathy Sinnott, member of the European parliament and vice president of the petitions committee. Stating that she has received a number of signed statements from the people of Greystones in relation to the north beach and its foreshore. She goes on to say that she would be happy to support our petition in any way she can. We would like to thank the residents of Greystones for taking the time in reading and supporting our statement and thinking it was worth while in sending this off to Ms. Sinnott.

As you know she has a very good track record in Europe in taking up this kind of issue when Democracy is at risk. She does her job with strong conviction. We want as many people as possible to sign the statements and then forward it on to Ms. Sinnott for her consideration.
The statements will then be compiled into a signed petition which she will present to the petitions committee as our host. This is a wonderful opportunity for the people of Greystones/Delgany and the people of wicklow in putting our objections forward once again in expressing our dissatisfaction not only against the building on the public foreshore, but the way we were treated as irish citizens by the institutions of the state e.g. An Bord Pleanala.

The self appointed Group the Greystones Protection and Development Association are solely responsible for the letdown to the people of Greystones, in which they were part of the deception. When you see the comment posted on Friday July the 11th 2008 when the so called leadership of this group which to apologise to the people of Greystones for misleading them on Greystones Harbour. The statement goes on to say in particular we would like to say sorry to Greystones Ridge Angling Club, Greystones sea scouts, Greystones Rowing Club and the Wicklow Aquanauts for trying to deny the facilities they deservely need.

We would like to say the next sentence that is contained in this statement is one of sheer hypocrisy when they state that they now recognise that the facilities are needed at Greystones Harbour and the only way to get them is through this Public Private Partnership Process. And then they finish by saying that we wish these clubs well in their new premises. We would like to ask them now where is their sense of duty to the people of Greystones after selling such a lie to them when you were so much against Public Private Partnership and not stating anywhere in this sellout statement regarding the building of 341 residential units on the public foreshore.

We say you should be apologising to the people of Greystones for bringing them out of their homes on a winters night and falsely gathering them together in the Greystones rugby club, where they heard nothing but a load of lies, but by the comments of the website you have not fooled the people it is also stated on this website that you are a front for the labour party. We say its more for the Developers. When you issue a statement like this you should be all hanging your heads in shame and its obvious to all that the candidate that was put forward by your group was to split the vote on the Green Party Candidate in the General Election. YOU ALL SERVED YOUR MASTERS WELL AND THE PEOPLE KNOW THROUGH THE COMMENTS ON THIS WEBSITE HAVE SEEN THROUGH THE WHOLE STEM OF THE ROTTEN DECEPTION THAT HAS TAKEN PLACE BEFORE THEIR EYES.

We are appealing now to the people of Greystones to get on this website and publish your Democratic views in utter rejection on whats taking place on our public foreshore. We are asking you to log on to this website(indymedia ireland) Greystones Harbour Deception, which is part of the campaign. We will keep you informed for further information from Kathy Sinnott M.E.P. thanking you once again from the Concerned Citizens Action Committee Greystones/Bray.
