This is a public interest story about a complete failure of governance and management at UCC.

offsite link Deliberate Design Flaw In ChatGPT-5 Sun Aug 17, 2025 08:04 | Mind Agent
Socratic Dialog Between ChatGPT-5 and Mind Agent Reveals Fatal and Deliberate 'Design by Construction' Flaw
This design flaw in ChatGPT-5's default epistemic mode subverts what the much touted ChatGPT-5 can do... so long as the flaw is not tickled, any usage should be fine---The epistemological question is: how would anyone in the public, includes you reading this (since no one is all knowing), in an unfamiliar domain know whether or not the flaw has been tickled when seeking information or understanding of a domain without prior knowledge of that domain???!

This analysis is a pretty unique and significant contribution to the space of empirical evaluation of LLMs that exist in AI public world... at least thus far, as far as I am aware! For what it's worth--as if anyone in the ChatGPT universe cares as they pile up on using the "PhD level scholar in your pocket".

According to GPT-5, and according to my tests, this flaw exists in all LLMs... What is revealing is the deduction GPT-5 made: Why ?design choice? starts looking like ?deliberate flaw?.

People are paying $200 a month to not just ChatGPT, but all major LLMs have similar Pro pricing! I bet they, like the normal user of free ChatGPT, stay in LLM's default mode where the flaw manifests itself. As it did in this evaluation.

Evaluating Semantic Reasoning Capability of AI Chatbot on Ontologically Deep Abstract (bias neutral) Thought
I have been evaluating AI Chatbot agents for their epistemic limits over the past two months, and have tested all major AI Agents, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Perplexity, and DeepSeek, for their epistemic limits and their negative impact as information gate-keepers.... Today I decided to test for how AI could be the boon for humanity in other positive areas, such as in completely abstract realms, such as metaphysical thought. Meaning, I wanted to test the LLMs for Positives beyond what most researchers benchmark these for, or have expressed in the approx. 2500 Turing tests in Humanity?s Last Exam.. And I chose as my first candidate, Google DeepMind's Gemini as I had not evaluated it before on anything.

offsite link Israeli Human Rights Group B'Tselem finally Admits It is Genocide releasing Our Genocide report Fri Aug 01, 2025 23:54 | 1 of indy
We have all known it for over 2 years that it is a genocide in Gaza
Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has finally admitted what everyone else outside Israel has known for two years is that the Israeli state is carrying out a genocide in Gaza

Western governments like the USA are complicit in it as they have been supplying the huge bombs and missiles used by Israel and dropped on innocent civilians in Gaza. One phone call from the USA regime could have ended it at any point. However many other countries are complicity with their tacit approval and neighboring Arab countries have been pretty spinless too in their support

With the release of this report titled: Our Genocide -there is a good chance this will make it okay for more people within Israel itself to speak out and do something about it despite the fact that many there are actually in support of the Gaza

This story is unverified but it is very instructive of what will happen when cash is removed
THIS STORY IS UNVERIFIED BUT PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO OR READ THE TRANSCRIPT AS IT GIVES AN VERY GOOD IDEA OF WHAT A CASHLESS SOCIETY WILL LOOK LIKE. And it ain't pretty

A single video report has come out of China claiming China's biggest cities are now cashless, not by choice, but by force. The report goes on to claim ATMs have gone dark, vaults are being emptied. And overnight (July 20 into 21), the digital yuan is the only currency allowed.

Launch of Short Film: Drugs – A Community Struggle!

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Monday May 19, 2008 22:35author by NARC - Ógra Shinn Féinauthor email osfnational at yahoo dot ie Report this post to the editors

Ógra Shinn Féin publicly launched a short film ‘Drugs – A Community Struggle!’ at their youth forum on drugs last Saturday 17 May in the Teacher’s Club, Dublin .

The short film outlines the youth movement’s NARC (Not Another Ravaged Community) campaign which is working to increase drug and alcohol awareness and tackle the negative effects that they have on our youth and communities.

The film outlines the problems associated with drink and drugs, the underlying reasons behind these problems, and identifies solutions on how we can collectively begin to tackle the drug epidemic.

The republican youth movement have uploaded the film to YouTube and Bebo in order to engage a wider audience.

You can view it at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVzsjyDQePk

Barry McColgan, National Organiser of Ógra Shinn Féin said,

“This is the first in a series of short films that we will be producing on the issue of drugs and alcohol abuse. It was necessary to outline the background and objectives of the NARC campaign in this initial film, before we touch on wider issues in future projects.”

“We have tried to highlight relevant topics that will spark further debate, and we would encourage as many people to watch and promote it amongst friends and family. Drugs as the title of the film suggests, is a community struggle, and it will only be an empowered and informed people working together that can effectively re-dress this problem.”

Excellent and inspiring to see young people take on such a difficult issue. The film is very innovative and manages not to be of putting by promoting young people throughout. Maith thu

Thanks for that, this issue means alot to me having relatives lives wrecked with drink and drugs. It is brilliant to see young people taking it upon themselves to make a difference.

If I could make one slight criticism though. It would be good to include personal contributions from those who have been affected by drugs. Other than that, excellent. Keep up the good work.

very good lads. fair play to yis genuinely. But I think Sinn Fein Snr. have lost their credibility and influence in the fight against drugs. A few years ago SF activists were on the ground and had respect amongst the communities. They were seen as different to the other parties , always with their ear to the ground and a step ahead of the dealers. Lately frankly, they sound like me granny on the issue. A local SF representative reported in the Local newspaper a month or so ago that people are throwin runners over the telephone lines to show were drugs are available. What planet has he been on. That practice is at least 20yrs old. Dont mean to be knit pickin but its that kinda stuff that is not helpin them. They seem more concerned with these photo opportunities for elections then doin real community work. I wont even start talkin about people been left to be intimidated by drug criminals, thats for another day. Any way best of luck.

Its a little more than that

http://www.independent.ie/national-news/council-bids-to....html

They are trying to work agianst this practice as a method of advertisement by drug dealers, not exactly a panacea but could be postive, al a NYC's zero tolerance on things like grafitti and vandalism to create a more lawful atmosphere in an area, an unfortunate term but essentially "communty normalisationi".

I'm sick of criticising things which are worthwhile because they arent exactly the solution. Youcant solve everything with one initiative or hit all bases.

Grand Oisin OSF. Im not havin a go at your youth wing by the way, fair play to yis and keep up the good work, but I urge others to actually look at that link provided by Oisin there and compare it to Sinn Fein (Snrs) stance a few years ago. I still think its very Granny-ish. I would advise young activists interested in the issue of community and drugs to maybe volunteer in their areas to do some work with a local Youth group etc. It would be good for your organisation (OSF) and individually as members. Im from that area where the article in the link mentions and there are no Ogra Sinn Fein or adult Sinn Fein involved in community/anti drugs groups as opposed to years ago. Im not talkin about Councillors or TDs been on this board or that, im talkin about local republicans bein on the ground and bein a positive role model for particularly the youth of the areas. Most of the SF members in this area in fact are like election leafletting machines. Its up to you and other left wing youth groups to have your finger on the pulse. If not young people will not relate to the ticket selling, paper sellin, pub drinking election monsters that are rife around here. Now get out there and engage with youth in the communities, dont spend even as much time on these websites talkin to other left wing people. Tiocfaidh ar la.
