Teacher suspended for 2 year old "sexy" Advert

category international | worker & community struggles and protests | other press author Friday January 18, 2008 10:37author by Fu manchu Report this post to the editors

2 years ago before Sarah Green worked in education, she accepted a job offer from a model & casting agency in Manchester (UK). The resulting video to promote "Hardwear" durable clothing for building sites & other intensive labour work garnered a few prizes on the film circuit. & then most likely Ms Green forgot all about it. That is till her teenage students at the Stockport Grammar School (an independent or private school in England) not only discovered the video clip whilst trawling Youtube for erotica, but let their parents know about it too.

She's now been suspended from her work & 21,000p.a. salary.

Quite obviously the complaints of parents that Ms Green compromised the innocence of her pupils ought not be allowed. Who brought them on to Youtube trawling erotica in the first place? Alas, the story is being reported as a bit of raunchy - tit & ass meets steel capped boots & hard helmet rather than the very serious worker privacy & worker rights story it really is.

(She's the one on the phone by the way)

Militant feminists were campaigning against advertisements that exploited women as bum and tit fodder thirty years ago. They targeted advertising that featured bikini-clad maidens photographed on the shiny bonnets of smart cars.

This video ad is of that ilk. Did the feminists express their outrage at the time it was shown on tv? As the ad with its macho male sexy message is not fit for family viewing, was the ad only shown after 9 p.m. when Ms Green's dear students were presumed to be bedward bound?

If she doesn't get her teaching job back - 21K seems modest for the posh private school she's been teaching at - surely there's a more lucrative career awaiting her in movies and advertising.

That was shown on TV???? Well, she's not committed any awful crime that she should lose her job. Women too can enjoy porn, & to them the fellas in the ad could be sex objects.

But it seems Ireland and England are not yet ready for such simple honest truths.
Hypocrisy is the order of the day in matters of human sexuality
we are what we are. Lets face it squarely, look it in the eye then move on people.
Its still a bigger deal to show sex on tv than gruesome killing.

not to mention our favourite victims for baying media driven
modern day witch hunts.....
