Streets cleaned for Clinton

Why are the streets being cleaned in Ballsbridge today?
A Clean Sweep for Clinton
A Clean Sweep for Clinton

We, the people of Ballsbridge are always complaining about the lack of street cleaning. So how do you get the streets cleaned around your house, simple invite a Clinton.
A well known Dublin legal eagle is to have special gusets at his party this evening in Raglan Road. Dublin City Council has been cleaning the streets all morning!!! WE have been asking for this for years. Seems all you have to do is have a Clinton for tea.

-I would rather see a Clinton in the white house than that bush that should be on the side of the road!
-Bush is all about war and aggressiveness, whilst Clinton knew how to make love.
-A true leader knows how to keep evryone happy, including his girls. At least he didnt shop around for a different woman evry night.
-Bertie is different. Well shop around in Dublin streets and you can find out for yourself. Just stating he knows how to party.
-Fancy a snort Irish "unnamed" minister?

Kucinich is running against Hillary Clinton, and his ideas about Iraq stand in stark contrast to the previous Clinton's gruesome siege tactics:

The Kucinich 12-Point Plan for Iraq
Introduced by Congressman Kucinich in the House of Representatives on January 9, 2007

1 The US announces it will end the occupation, close military bases, and withdraw. The insurgency has been fueled by the occupation and the prospect of a long-term presence as indicated by the building of permanent bases. ...
...
8 Reparations. The US and Great Britain have a high moral obligation to enable a peace process by beginning a program of significant reparations to the people of Iraq for the loss of lives, physical and emotional injuries, and damage to property. There should be special programs to rescue the tens of thousands of Iraqi orphans from lives of destitution. This is essential to enable reconciliation.

9 Political Sovereignty. Put an end to suspicions that the US invasion and occupation was influenced by a desire to gain control of Iraq's oil assets by A) setting aside initiatives to privatize Iraqi oil interests or other national assets, and B) by abandoning efforts to change Iraqi national law to facilitate privatization.
...
12 International Truth and Reconciliation. Establish a policy of truth and reconciliation between the people of the United States and the people of Iraq. ... This is a moment to take a new direction in Iraq. One with honor and dignity. One which protects our troops and rescues Iraqi civilians. One which repairs our relationship with Iraqis and with the world.

... you can read lists prepared for the programme here:

List of U.S. Holds as of February 28, 2001, U.N. Office of the Iraq Programme ("OIP")
http://www.ccmep.org/list.html

For best searching, save the lists on your computer, as follows:
1. Right-click on one of the links, e.g. "Part III", and select "Save Link As ..." to save the file on your computer.
2. Open the saved file in a spreadsheet program, e.g. Excel.
3. Hold the Ctrl key down, press the F key, and release both keys.
4. Type the word "water" in the search field.
5. Hit the Return key to find more examples.

Here are some of the items that come up in Part III alone:
Water distilling equipment from the UAE
Water treatment compact unit from Austria
Water pump from Jordan
Water tanker w/ spare parts from Vietnam
Waste water treatment plant from the UAE
Water well rehabilitation units/parts from France
Water pump from Egypt
Water tanker/spare parts from Egypt
Water pump from Tunisia
Water pumps driven by diesel engines from Lebanon
Water treatment plant equipment from Italy
Water pumps from India

Or you can simply start at the top and press the Return key to scan through items listed in column J. Such as:

Fire-fighting vehicles
(If these fire engines had been imported, the Pentagon's weapons inspectors would probably have described them as secret chemical laboratories, as they did when they found fire engines buried in the sand in August 2003.)

Aluminium hydroxide
(This is a flocculant, i.e. a chemical used quite literally to knock the crap out of water.)

Truck from the United Arab Emirates
Trucks from Lebanon
Transportation trucks from Tunisia
Refrigerated trucks from France
Tipping truck from Egypt
Tipper truck from Morocco
Truck from France
Trucks and spare parts from Egypt (Blocked by the US and Ireland acting jointly!)

Road sweepers
Dental equipment
Weighing scales
Wheel barrow sprayers

Anti-foaming agent for sugar and yeast

Maybe the Iraqis were planning on using this last item to make enormous quantities of leavened bread, so as to attack Israel during Passover?

Or maybe they just wanted to feed their children?

What does Hillary have to say about this siege tactic, I wonder?

Best,
Coilín.

What do you mean by that, Barry? Are you trying to suggest that Bill Clinton promoted the systematic destruction of Iraqi water purification systems?

That's an appalling allegation!

Unfortunately, it's true.

Apart from the many, many bombing attacks on innocent civilians in the American-British "no-fly zones" and the massive bombing attack of December 1998, cheerfully known as "Operation Desert Fox", it was on Clinton's watch that the Oil-for-Food Programme was used to blockade the import of vital humanitarian supplies while pretending to work to relieve the immense suffering of the Iraqi people under the "trade embargo" - also known as the Great Siege of Iraq.

This so-called "humanitarian" programme served as an ingenious smoke-screen that made it look as if Clinton's team was doing good work, while in fact the Pentagon used the programme to obstruct the import of water purification equipment and, as a result, hundreds of thousands of Iraqi children died of diarrhoeal diseases that came from drinking filthy water, e.g. cholera and dysentery.

As reported in the Sunday Times a few weeks ago, a British officer who participated in the invasion in 2003 was horrified to see an open sewer running through a hospital in Basra, but he ought to have known that this had been going on for years, because Britain's most intimate ally, the United States, was preventing imports of equipment needed to repair water purification and sewage systems. (For details of items blocked, see my next post.)

In other words, Clinton went on besieging Iraq - an immensely cruel and cowardly form of warfare that makes civilians die of starvation and disease while the enemy bides his time.

Best,
Coilin.

Dont forget to thank him for Raytheon in Derry , John Humes prize for a lifetime of being a NED/CIA stooge , and for David Rupert , the man his agents brought to southern Ireland to work illegally with MI5 as an agent provocateur , with such successful results .
Without the massacre of thousands in Mogadishu we would never have had the privilege to watch Black Hawk Down . Without genocidal sanctions against Iraqi children thered probably be a million more angry muslims ,
But hey , the guy played the saxaphone just like his cool Brittania counterpart Tony Blair played the guitar . Therefore why not invite both criminals to switch on the fecking christmas lights , regardless of the fact that between them theyve switched off the lights of millions .

To those who pointed out the betrayals of the Clintons, let me remind you all of one point that is especially relevant to the people of Ireland.

Bill Clinton is the president who first signed up and made extraordinary rendition possible.

You know, that whole Shannon Airport thing you all have been fighting so bravely. Oh and thank you for that.

Of course when I talk as Green in the US, Shannon Airport and betrayal and the Irish Green Party, all I can say is that I have used the examples of the German and Irish Greens in debates with "realo" and "fundy" Greens here. I am a fundy and damned proud of it.

Thanks all, keep up the good work.

The woman has shown herself capable of knocking down all pretenders to her husbands
lap, keeping her self stable and furious and best of all, she is as thick as two short planks
with it- she is a political played. Giulani is pro-abortion (republican) and Clinton is

The American people are being fooled into voting for Hillary because she will be a novelty female President.
The fact of the matter is this campaign is a ploy for Slick Willy to get a maximum of two more terms in the White House.
Sure Hillary will appear in public and get her official portrait hung on the walls of every public building in the US but this is still a man's world and Bill will be pulling the strings and making the important decisions.

Titled "Dereliction Of Duty: The Constitutional Record of President Clinton", the Cato Policy Analysis report article at http://www.cato.org/pubs/pas/pa-271.html contains (among much else) the following piece of text:

"Although President Clinton has expressed support for an 'expansive' view of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, he has actually weakened a number of fundamental guarantees, including those of free speech and the right to trial by jury and that against double jeopardy. He has also supported retroactive taxes, gun control, and warrantless searches and seizures. The president's legal team is constantly pushing for judicial rulings that will sanction expansions of federal power. The Clinton White House has, for example, supported the federalization of health care, crime fighting, environmental protection, and education. Clinton also claims constitutional authority to order military attacks against other countries whenever he deems it appropriate. President Clinton's record is, in a word, deplorable. If constitutional report cards were handed out to presidents, he would receive an F."

No.

Your heading - 'its obscenity'........ your researched view, leaves me at a point of re-consideration as to what I really think, as one of the Plain People of Ireland.

The first I heard was a neighbour Gerry, who lives on Raglan Lane, phoned me on Saturday morning and informed me of the Council cleaning and sweeping Raglan Lane for the coming of the Perfect Couple, Bill and Hilary - according to Dublin standards. This was not a private party - taxpayers paid for the overtime of the Council workers and the taxpayers that evening paid for the large Garda presence to accommodate the D4 elite. I walked through Raglan Road that evening with my Partner and Jack Russell. To see the heavy Garda presence together with Branch members, I asked myself the question - a private party paid for my the taxpayer and nobody shouting from the roof tops. The adjacent US embassy does not seem have the number of Gardai on patrol on any given day.

Where are Sinn Fein now? Joe Higgins, the last of the Mohican socialists, the people involved with issue of rendition flights in Shannon, those Irish people who have friends and family who are illegals in the US since the 1980's and whose presonal freedom to travel and live in US is affected. Why can we not have another Donnelly Visa situation? Is it not equitable? Who really cares about these people?

Irish Mail on Sunday - See you as first 'laddy'....The photos reveal our Taoiseach and Bill Clinton; then Gerry Ryan and his wife Morah - ironically to the right of these photos but naturally these people are not part of the guest list is the heading 'Laird 'amazed' Slab Murphy is let out of custody and the photos of 'Slab' and who is staying with Mr. Kirk's FF TD's brother.

The hosts are the high flying Solicitors - Brian and Linda O'Shea Farren. The Raglan Road house had a Marquee which opened out into Clyde Lane. It was bedecked with blue ribbon to denote the blue of the Democratic Party. The tables had Armani candles and Orchid flowers.

So who were the guests of honour. Who paid the Euros 1600 in support of the Hilary Clinton campaign for election in the US?

Tom Parlon (former PD); Ulick McElvaddy and his girlfriend Lisa Clerkin, Conor and Aoife McCarthy, Hotelier Paul Fitzpatrick and his wife Lisa; as was builder and legal eagle Noel Smyth; property legend from Clare, Bernard McNamara and his wife Moira and Mark and Vivienne Dunne; the New York hotelier, Fitzpatrick is the founder of a campaign support group - Irish supporters for Hilary. I believe he is a decent man, he ordered at midnight a Garda car to deliver the left-overs for the five homeless men who have made their home in Herbert Park. This was a decent man.

Brian Farren made an address (brief) before Clinton made the 20 minute speech. He referred to HIV and Africa; to 9/11 and firefighter impact; Mr. Bush spoke of his non support of President Bush's environmental policies or lack of them.

Who else was there?

I would have thought - Mr. Paisley, Mr. Martin McGuinness and Mr. Gerry Adams as representatives of Stormont would be there and as endorsement of the Peace Process.

Transparency and Accountability: Will it be the responsibility of the Ethics Committee for public accounts to notify the public of costs to the State for the visit of Mr. Clinton i.e. security, accommodation, street cleaning etc. This is a private visit relating to fundraising for Mrs Hilary Clinton and the Presidency in the US.

I walked around later that evening - 10.15 p.m. Bertie had phoned the house at 8.20 p.m. to apologise for his non attendance. It appears that he had a Poker Game in Fagan's for 9 p.m. The poker game was for Charity i.e. the Bertie Ahern Golf Annual Society at Portmarnock. The charity will fund all the FF people who have fallen on hard times e.g. Ray Burke.

I noted 7 mercedes cars pull up. It was Bertie's apology, that he could not make it personally. He told Mary and Brian, he was sending his personal diciples and to treat them with the D4 manners they deserve. The first mercedes - the doors opened and who hopped out: Des O'Neill, Barrister and his wife. This is a token of a man who holds no grudge.

2nd Mercedes: Joe Higgins and his wife appeared. Again you must acknowledge Bertie's transparency, forgiveness and diversity.

3rd Mercedes: Geraldine Kennedy and her husband - again Bertie shows no grudge for any leaks that could cause downfall.

The 4th Mercedes, in recognition for his support of the Peace Process in Bertie's eyes and in his commitment in bringing equality to the Island of Ireland - Thomas Slab Murphy and his partner for the night Mary Lou MacDonald. (Now Gerry and Martin - you cry your eyes out!)

5th Mercedes, like Clinton - legends of controversy, the Bailey Brothers, Michael and Tom.

6th Mercedes - Bertie always said 'Innocent until proven guilty' Michael Lynn and his wife Brid Murphy, with properties from Howth Head to Malin Head to Mizen Head to the Rock of Gibraltar.

7th Mercedes. The Wellington Road Elite.....Sir Charles More or Less with Lady Daisy Drake, millions made from who runs the fastest, in the company of her father Mr. Sean Drake expert in rare birds and his partner for the night Dr. Eleanor Comyn.

8th Mercedes was estonishing in practice. John Prescott hops out with his new girlfriend Katy French. Qualifier for this Merc......Where is the morality?

Last Mercedes, but thank God it saved the party, the only genuine couple among the riff raff among D4 was Lord Archer - a pure legend.

Who is really who in Ireland these days? Those of property, it appears but world markets are in turmoil......so who knows the future.

I ask tonight is Dublin 4 an independent State in relation to the rest of Ireland. These people can their own private Gardai for the night paid by the taxpayer and at a whim the Co. Council come with their brushes to clean the access roads - I say tonight Brian and Mary, Shame on both of you. Why simply - the poverty in Ireland and even around you in Dublin 4 is becoming more and more visible and yet you can host such lavish parties at 200,000 euros - the cost of feeling important. You do not speak for me in your vanity.

PS Today's newspapers. Ireland facilitates its wealthiest with over 100 m. in tax breaks. Really as Mr. Brian Cowen works out the budget, is it not time to increase taxes, increase CGT re. property and provide a valued system of Education for the people and a proper Health Service.

The Farren House, Fitzroy House, not far away from our famous Irish literary, Patrick Kavanagh lived, lived in the 1950's. These were different times and houses held much lower values but his poem 'On Raglan Road, you will no doubt knows.

Got every party invited tonight and I believe it is 3,000 and a cost of 1,650 a tick to 'mingle' in the select crowd.

3,000 is one number but us add in those exceptional people involved in the social works of helping out the homes and who are not reward.

A List to those who would merit an invite and may not have received on:

Well letts go RIP and lets take a quotation from Former Present Robert Kennedy
'each time a man stands for an idea, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends for a ripple of hope and crossing energy each other from a millinn diferent ceters of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mighties walls of oppression'

Fr. Peter Verry, who relentless work with the drug addicts, the poor, the homeless........an exceptional man of sight.

An elderly Sister Concilio who had dedicated her whole life to those scraped by bare by addiction and alchol.......please keep going and trying.....

Hellen Keller: Let us remember her battle with disabilities including. This quote is from her 'Although the world is full of overcoming suffering?

Hark Stack Sullivan (Psychologist)
'There is a persistent funny for of suspicion in most of us that we can solve our own problems and be the masters of our shipps of life, but the fact of the matter is thta by ourselves we can only become cononsumed mby our problems and suffer shipwreck

Mark
'Kind is the language which the deaf can hear and the Blind can see'

James Joyce Mistakes are the portals of discoverty.

Then Why Youths
'Youth, which is forgive Everythin , forgives itself n

Gandhi
'I travelled far and wide and all I have done is come home'

Karl Marx (worth a thought because he was different)
'He showed how work can alienate a person from their nature and potential

Simon Weil
'Pain is the root to knowledge'

These people has passed on but let their wisdom remain present and temper those who attended Fitzroy House tonight to keep the hand open for the Committment of Peace in the Unity of Ireland.

Does anybody want to add to a list of those who ought to have been invited tonight.......Who were the Captains of Industry who received tickets ie. who paid euros1600. Is there any match out that may not have paid but contributes highly to Ireland.
