No Protections for Heritage!

Heritage Week begins August the 25th 2007. The web-address is included here:-

http://www.heritageweek.ie/en/register-event-introducti....aspx

This is the week , when well meaning groups such as the Heritage Council provide
the Irish people with a brief reminder of the importance of heritage to us as a community
and a nation.

The included link is an invitation by the organisers of the week long celebration of Ireland's
heritage to include a worthy or worthwhile event that is both educational and family orientated.

Our natural heritage has been under threat for a generation by those in office who seek to
profit through introducing aggressive planning without a separate committment to
protection.

Our built heritage has no protection in Irish legislation, through a carefully constructed
set of planning laws that have ensured rapid devlopment and rapid destruction. The
Government has failed in its duty to preserve out history.

This Heritage Week we should be reminding the State of its obligation in the protection
of our heritage for future generations.

BTW:- The National Roads Authority shall be conferencing in the Gresham Hotel, this Coming
Thursday afternoon, If anyone would like to add in details of the time and/or picket organisation.
