Reading the last hurrah of the Garda Complaints Board I could not help but think of Comrade Trotskys advice to the Mensheviks at the Second Congress in 1920.

seems like Mr holmes comments are like the sting of a dying wasp, he is being replaced by the Garda ombudsman and must feel agrieved as its formation makes him redundant and casts cloud on his efforts and work and it appears he wants to blame some one, the garda force has increased in numbers by 3000 over the last 5 years from 11,000 - 14,000 and its natural to expect complaints to rise with increased policing activity, many complaints are malicious and made by arrogant yuppies who are fueled up on cocaine on a fri night and high and mighty on a monday morning making their complaint cause they were put in a cell for acting like an animal. The penalty points have brought about additional complaints and as he said him self (some) by people who are prepared to drop the complaint if the charge is dropped (this is an abuse of the system and is malicious and the new ombudsman can investigate and charge people who make malicious compliants and should be seen to do so.

The Garda Síochána Complaints Board has been part of a deeply flawed system which has given rise
to multiple abuses of garda power and privilege - donegal, rossport, etc.
A complaint about garda conduct would see the complainant being investigated or harassed, not as it should be.
We will wait a while to see if the the new Garda Ombudsman will make a difference but the signs are not promising. It already seems that political correctness is the order of the day. Just look at the cases being taken on and more tellingly, the cases being omitted.

Anyone who has a genuine ,lawful complaint against a Garda should lodge it and the matter should be investigated. If the Garda is found guilty following due process,then they should be penalised.
However,if someone lodges a malicious or vexatious complaint they too should be investigated and if found guilty should also be penalised as fair play has to extend to both sides.Zero tolerance of all lies on both sides is the only way forward.

garda complaints board? was a joke, is a joke, and absolutely piontless, even though there hands were handcuffed. They where happy with there existence and had many merry party with the boys in blue, including holmes. dont know what he's playing at.

Garda Commissioner Noel Conroy is to be honoured at the Humbert Summer School for his work on piloting garda reforms. Well my children are not happy with him.
I lodged in an Official complaint against this Commissioner Conroy for "losing" the file on my two kidnapped and now missing children.
I was told however that Conroy is not a garda and as such no complaint can be made against him through the new garda complaints board. I got this statement in writing too.

Mr Conroy joined the Garda Síochana in 1963 and served as a detective in Dublin districts of Finglas, Kevin Street, Cabra, Store Street and Santry.
He was also posted to the Central Detective Unit and at the Crime and Security Section at Garda Headquarters.
He was Deputy Commissioner in charge of Operations from 1996 to 2003 when he had responsibility for crime investigation, drugs enforcement, security matters and tactical planning.
-September 2001 and more young women go missing ! The incompetent Garda have not found any missing woman since 1995 ; they have not found even the bodies of missing women !

There was one very important newspaper article , published in 1997 in the Kilkenny People , which has all but been brushed under the carpet . The article , which was published in June 1997 , proclaimed that sex-abuse victims from a SE Leinster based "Survivors" group planned to name a Bishop , a high ranking Garda , a Minister ( one assumes that this means a Government Minister) and a number of high profile "personalities"( one suspects the author means prominent people in the media , ie; TV , Radio, film and theatre ).
Weekly , we hear of yet more priests being brought before the courts on charges of child abuse , yet no charges are being made against any of the aforementioned!
-Irish paedophiles force children to have sex with animals!
Irish Fine Gael TD for Carlow/Kilkenny, Phil Hogan presented a shocking case to the Irish Parliament on Wednesday evening .The case involves a paedophile ring and cover-ups . A government official , now retired , has been identified as a paedophile . The government official , while in the course of his work in the Dept of Education investigating allegations of child abuse, was in fact himself a paedophile and covered up for other paedophiles .
The unnamed government official and suspected paedophile has been linked to the notorious killer Malcolm McArthur who is now being called a paedophile!

In 2007 the garda missing persons list only extends to 2005.

officially 171 people have gone missing since 2001. Why are they not on the list??? We can see the posters all over Dublin but the next day they have been removed by the council workers. Hello are you there? anyone using the brain in your head? They are kidnapped and missing persons and should not be forgotten.

Whatever about his national performance, Conroy will forever be remembered around erris as the man that put 200 of his men in on top of his own people and had them beaten to a pulp in an area that was and stiil is, apart from attacks on protesters by police, a totally crimefree place. That can never be forgiven or forgotten. the situation in erris now is a direct result of that, and if something really bad happens, it will be down to the man who used violence as a first option against his own people.

that sounds like a Threat, if something really bad happens it will be the people who commit that "something really bad " who will be responsible, not the garda commissioner.

Something really bad happened at pullathomas on june 11, when the guards endangered numerous lives on private property. (if you dont get my drift you can check back an find out. it concerns a mechanical digger) That was mr. conroy's guards in action. your right. scared and threat are very appropriate words.

It is hard to imagine that Conroy is not a Garda. The first function of the Commissioner under Section 26 (a) of the GARDA SIOCHANA ACT 2005 is 'to direct and control the Garda Siochana'.

That is the same as the Defence force Chief of staff , a Lt.General , not being a Soldier.

Are you suggesting, then, that the events alluded to there by Errisman, ( when the Gardai used a 16-ton mechanical digger to force entry

on to private land ) didn't happen and were 'invented' by S2S? There were over 100 people there on the day, many of whom had no prior

involvement with S2S, who would beg to differ. We have a video of the day's events which shows, very graphically, what the Gardai are

capable of in Erris. Five of the Gardai involved were so disgusted at what they were made to do that they've refused to be part of any

further Garda activity on behalf of Shell. These are the things you don't like to hear about, but if you're going to come on here and try to

discredit us with unsubstantiated flannel like you've just written, then you might as well have the facts. The Gardai really overstepped the

mark that day and they know it. Numerous complaints have gone in to the Ombudsman relating to that day alone, all from ordinary local

people with no previous involvement with the law. When you defend the actions of Gardai in Erris you are defending the victimisation of

ordinary people by a minority of Gardai who are out of control. If you're happy to do that, that's fine, but be aware of the fact that many

Gardai will admit, off the record, that events like those of June 16 are anathema to them and to what they believe they should be doing,

which is to protect the people they're currently attacking.

Erris. His comment was wiped when I posted mine. I wish someone would explain what's going on with comments being removed, etc.

It's getting to the stage that contributing here is becoming a waste of time, if the piece you're responding to has disappeared by the time
