As for violence I have never advocated violence as a way forward as I have seen first hand the waste of lives that has been the growth of $inn Feign and I now realise that careers have been created through the sufferance of others.
Please don't give me that bullshit about Republicans maturing sufficiently to share power, $inn Feign haven't matured they've just become the new SDLP adopting their conformist policies whitewashing over years of death with mealy words about peace when that leadership sacrificed young lives while they matured or got enough votes to mature
"Sure they're already footing the bill to keep us partitioned as they have for 30 odd years"
Well, Patrick Henry, they were only footing the bill because the six counties were part of their country and therefore contained British taxpayers, who would foot the bill if partition were abolished?
"Yeah you're right. You'd prefer us to be bombing and killing each other instead I take it?"
No, David, bombing and killing are not the ways to acieve change in a country, that was the point for the last 30 years, its only now that republicans have matured sufficiently for us to share power with them.
Yeah you're right. You'd prefer us to be bombing and killing each other instead I take it? That's a much better way to go about things.
Let's roll back things 30 years and create a mini-Iraq.
Sure they're already footing the bill to keep us partitioned as they have for 30 odd years.
integrating with the south? so you mean you expect the southern tax payer to foot the bill for your romantic delusions?
Is that the Puppet Government we now have running the 6 Counties on behalf of the British, David? Like all Puppet Governments it'll collapse, it's only a matter of time, especially when you have 2 undemocratic parties running it.
The bullies have been left in charge of the classroom.
Yes it costs more than it makes, but that's probably the number 1 area SF and the DUP will be concentrating on. Vastly reducing the reliance on the state sector and opening up the economy to investment. The security bill will be reduced year on year and the economy in order to improve will have to, have to, become integrated to with the Republic's...in my view we will have a very closely integrated all-Ireland economy in 15 years. This is the road to a united Ireland.
Yes, the Northern state is a failure, you're right. Let's then hope that the new system of government put in place only this week will change that.
yes dub, the NI state is being subsidised, but since its part of the UK economy and that economy is the fourth largest in the World, it is easily affordable, would the Irish Republic be able to afford it?
British troops have not withdrawn,
Every policeman, civil servent and member of parlimant in Stormont is paid for by London.
The north is a failure as a state.
In terms of money It costs 3 times more then it makes.
Self government? Dont make me laugh!
Whatever it's legal status, NI is now being governed by the people who live there and British troops have withdrawn. It's not being governed from London. Like it or not, those who regard themselves as British have been a presence for 400 years in the province, and regard themselves as "Irishmen" (to quote Ian Paisley). Leave the ancient rhetoric behind, there is a new era in NI and the vast majority of people have a new perspective. That could change even further, may be in 10/15 years Unionists won't feel threatened by a united Ireland and though they may oppose it, would accept it should it be voted into existence in a referendum. It's time to move on.
Is there a Republican breeding program going on? Don;t confuse Catholics for Republicans.
'ÉIRE NUA provides the only viable alternative to English rule in Ireland, offering maximum decentralisation of power to local level according to local majorities'.
So according to this rule surely parts of Ennis should be run by the Nigerian Government as in some small villages Nigerian and Ivory Coast visitors outnumber the local population 3-1. Forgive me for being anal but just needed to make a valid point to this thinking.
Surely the democratic process ie. the assembly elections showed what Governance the people wanted.. until the day that Republicans outnumber other backgrounds in the North (which is fast approaching) this is the power sharing situation we have and violence and going against the strong public ophinion cannot change that.. Patience is a virtue. Use it.
