Solidarity Pickets in Dublin![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Large groups of protesters gathered in Dublin this evening Many people gathered in Dublin this evening to express solidarity with the community in North West Mayo who are under siege from Shell and the Irish government. There was a mix-up about the status of the Statoil Station on the quays, which meant that when people showed up to protest there were no placards and leaflets for them. This was due to mistaken information being passed on as fact, and Dublin Shell to Sea want to take this opportunity to apologise for this.

Despite the cancellatiion of the Picket on the Quays, several people showed up late and were unaware of the postponement. The small handful of protesters held a banner saying 'our world is not for sale' and a placard urging cars to boycott the station.

These pictures are from last Tuesday. There are some reports on the site about the Donnybrook blocade, if they don't reach your standard then have a go at writing something up - it sounded like quite the event.
