Sponsored haircut draws crowds, raises cash. Environmental and political activist Eoin Ó Broin raised more than two thousand euro for the Rossport Solidarity Camp, by asking for sponsorship for the cutting off of his dreadlocks. The big cut happened on Grafton Street in Dublin at 3PM, and although at first the crowds were bemused and a little uncertain about what was happening, within a short time they got the idea, and soon people were more than happy to get involved in the cutting. |

Hope you're not scarred for life. Seriously, thanks very much for doing it and thanks to everyone who donated. Eoin, you're a star. Oh and if you find you enjoy life as a skinhead, I can get some boots and braces for you!
How much could Shell raise if Andy Pyle offered to cut something off?
Six years of growth, shorn over an hour or so...
hair kept going off, money kept coming in- Eoin got down to one dread and we auctioned it...
The last cut.
He's probably going to get people telling him he needs a haircut.
Greets from the Netherlands/France!!
Fair play Eoin - Hope I recognise you next time your in Rossport ;)
You now face regular haircuts are growing it all over again! (I shave my head every three years), and every time I lose the tresses I find myself patting the back of my neck unconsciously for a few weeks. I suppose Eoin is doing that - fiddling at the nape of his neck. Must be weird, there was a lot of years in those dreds. But an impressive way to make 2000eu and it seems meet girlies. ;-)
He was later found to be a little "light headed" but well on the way to recovery in Grogan's public house in Dublin!
Krossie
Fair play Eoin, there was a lot of growing in them, although better get them cut off for a good cause than let nature run its course and they fell off! Great idea getting the €5 for each one too.
yoooooooooooooooooo wasssuuuuppppppp hahahahhahahahha EOIN!!!!

Jeez Eoin, brings back memories of Clondalkin scouts where on occasion at camp someone would have an eyebrow or a patch of hair shaved! Not that you were ever ever involved.
