The 32 County Sovereignty Movement (Ireland) sends its sincere condolences to the comrades, friends and family of Chechen resistance leader Abdul-Khalim Sadulayev.

Sadulayev was killed while fighting Russian occupation forces and counter-gangs in his hometown of Argun on 17th June 2006. It is testament to his great courage that he fell whilst conducting operations on the battlefield – understanding perfectly well the great personal risk this involved. Sources from within the Chechen resistance praised his ability to put the greater cause of his Nation above and beyond that of the individual. In an interview given to a Bulgarian newspaper only days before his martyrdom, he commented that he had “little fear of death” and “if, through the will of Allah, I should meet my death, there shall be someone to continue this task”.

Although the Kremlin and various national traitors have quickly attempted to spread lies and disinformation about Sadulayev’s final moments, it has done nothing to stop the pride that the Chechen people feel for their martyred son. A pride that true revolutionaries and freedom loving people across the world share with them. Indeed, as criminals and gangsters gathered around his body to gloat for the TV cameras, it did nothing but confirm their own moral degradation and corruption.

The 32 County Sovereignty Movement reaffirms its solidarity with the Chechen people and supports them in their struggle to defend their Nation against its continuing illegal occupation.
