offsite link Deliberate Design Flaw In ChatGPT-5 Sun Aug 17, 2025 08:04 | Mind Agent
Socratic Dialog Between ChatGPT-5 and Mind Agent Reveals Fatal and Deliberate 'Design by Construction' Flaw
This design flaw in ChatGPT-5's default epistemic mode subverts what the much touted ChatGPT-5 can do... so long as the flaw is not tickled, any usage should be fine---The epistemological question is: how would anyone in the public, includes you reading this (since no one is all knowing), in an unfamiliar domain know whether or not the flaw has been tickled when seeking information or understanding of a domain without prior knowledge of that domain???!

This analysis is a pretty unique and significant contribution to the space of empirical evaluation of LLMs that exist in AI public world... at least thus far, as far as I am aware! For what it's worth--as if anyone in the ChatGPT universe cares as they pile up on using the "PhD level scholar in your pocket".

According to GPT-5, and according to my tests, this flaw exists in all LLMs... What is revealing is the deduction GPT-5 made: Why ?design choice? starts looking like ?deliberate flaw?.

People are paying $200 a month to not just ChatGPT, but all major LLMs have similar Pro pricing! I bet they, like the normal user of free ChatGPT, stay in LLM's default mode where the flaw manifests itself. As it did in this evaluation.

Evaluating Semantic Reasoning Capability of AI Chatbot on Ontologically Deep Abstract (bias neutral) Thought
I have been evaluating AI Chatbot agents for their epistemic limits over the past two months, and have tested all major AI Agents, ChatGPT, Grok, Claude, Perplexity, and DeepSeek, for their epistemic limits and their negative impact as information gate-keepers.... Today I decided to test for how AI could be the boon for humanity in other positive areas, such as in completely abstract realms, such as metaphysical thought. Meaning, I wanted to test the LLMs for Positives beyond what most researchers benchmark these for, or have expressed in the approx. 2500 Turing tests in Humanity?s Last Exam.. And I chose as my first candidate, Google DeepMind's Gemini as I had not evaluated it before on anything.

offsite link Israeli Human Rights Group B'Tselem finally Admits It is Genocide releasing Our Genocide report Fri Aug 01, 2025 23:54 | 1 of indy
We have all known it for over 2 years that it is a genocide in Gaza
Israeli human rights group B'Tselem has finally admitted what everyone else outside Israel has known for two years is that the Israeli state is carrying out a genocide in Gaza

Western governments like the USA are complicit in it as they have been supplying the huge bombs and missiles used by Israel and dropped on innocent civilians in Gaza. One phone call from the USA regime could have ended it at any point. However many other countries are complicity with their tacit approval and neighboring Arab countries have been pretty spinless too in their support

With the release of this report titled: Our Genocide -there is a good chance this will make it okay for more people within Israel itself to speak out and do something about it despite the fact that many there are actually in support of the Gaza

This story is unverified but it is very instructive of what will happen when cash is removed
THIS STORY IS UNVERIFIED BUT PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO OR READ THE TRANSCRIPT AS IT GIVES AN VERY GOOD IDEA OF WHAT A CASHLESS SOCIETY WILL LOOK LIKE. And it ain't pretty

A single video report has come out of China claiming China's biggest cities are now cashless, not by choice, but by force. The report goes on to claim ATMs have gone dark, vaults are being emptied. And overnight (July 20 into 21), the digital yuan is the only currency allowed.

A Republican call for "Left Unity".

category national | anti-capitalism | other press author Tuesday April 18, 2006 18:04author by Republican Report this post to the editors

Yet another call for left unity, but this time from a republican.

Interesting call for left unity here in Daily Ireland. This time it is from a republican source. Follows on from a series previous calls from other sources on the left.

Time for lovely rainbow coalition of the left

GEARÓID Ó CAIREALLÁIN

"But what about a rainbow coalition of the left? Just say Sinn Féin, Labour, the Green Party and the various socialists and independents like Jim Higgins (sic) and Tony Gregory got together to form a real alternative."

GEARÓID Ó CAIREALLÁIN

"But what about a rainbow coalition of the left? Just say Sinn Féin, Labour, the Green Party and the various socialists and independents like Jim Higgins and Tony Gregory got together to form a real alternative.
Yes, I realise they don’t have the votes to do diddley squat at present, but if they formed a rainbow coalition of the Left and announced that they were going forward as one grouping in the next election with a view to forming the next government, would they not attract support and votes from everywhere.
The only reason why I think it’s worth a go is because I still – naively, perhaps – believe that the above mentioned parties and politicians are the only parties and politicians who might well sit down to help the plain people of Ireland achieve the kind of Ireland envisaged by the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising.
Further, they have the big advantage of never having been given the chance to do better than Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the PD. My beautiful, rainbow coalition of the left may well turn out to be just as big a shower of gobshites as the rest of them, but then again, they may not.
The plain people of Ireland, the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising, we all deserve something better – but then, are the politicians and parties mentioned above be capable of going for it? "

This is interesting stuff, but I'm not sure if it could really fly. The various parties and independents are lumped together as part of a vague 'left' which is never defined.

Is Labour still a left party? Were SF and the Greens ever left parties? As for the Socialist Party, they're the Trotskyites it's OK to like, and therein lies both their strength and their weakness. Joe Higgins does some very good work and the SP members I've met over my years as an armchair socialist have been pretty decent people. But like all followers of Lev Davidovich, they remain trapped in a ghetto of their own making. Could they break out of it to join a broad coalition of progessive forces?

One thing's for sure - such coalition is needed. Every single successful political movement on the island of Ireland since Dan O'Connell's time has been a coalition of some sort or another, even when it was united under one single party banner ('Big house' Unionism was a good example of this, bringing social classes whose common interests were questionable at best together via an appeal to ethnoreligious identity). I don't see any real change in Ireland until such a coalition can be built on the left - but do the raw materials for such a coalition really exist?

This guy obviously donesn't know his stuff. He calls Joe Higgins Jim and says he's an independent. Not only that he thinks that Labour, Sinn Féin and the Greens are progresive. They are far from it and would not be part of a left alliance.

Here are some home truths:
Labour support- immigration controls, deportations, partnership deals, anti-union laws, FG coalition, the EU, the UN, ...

SF support- the Euro, the EU, Bin Tax (outside Dublin), water tax (in North), DUP and FF coalition, religious sectarianism, ...

Greens supprt- bin tax, more tax on feuls, anti-working class policies dressed in 'environmental' language ....

Labour, Greens and Sinn Fein are rotten parties that are right-wing on many matters. Anyone wanting a deal with these people are not left-wing. Disgusting Horrible anti-working class politics. F**king animals.

"Disgusting Horrible anti-working class politics. F**king animals"

i really think thats a bit harsh!! also obviously the jim higgins rather than joe higgins is a typo and that does not ruin the rets of his argument.

What is supposed to happen then? Are we in Ireland going to be almost the only people in Europe who will NEVER have a left of centre government in power. EVER. thats what the logic of your argument.

also the left in power, even a watered down social democratic left government is better than the right, can we agree on that?

and it is also better for the far left because it shows what these guys actually do in power.

Everyone who cares about progressive politcs in Ireland unless they are a rapid sectarian have to support a SF/;Lab/Green and whoever alliance.

'If I was going to Dublin, I wouldn't start from here'.

A realism that starts from an unrealistic assessment of the progressive nature of parties like Labour, SF etc., can only end in tears. Look at what's happened to the left in the US, after decades of whoring after the so-called Democratic party.

Sometimes I'm afraid it's only some kind of world economic crisis (coming out of the oil peak thing?) that will unblock progressive politics in Ireland. But such a crisis might just as easily lead to the rise of some kind of far-right national-chauvinist party instead.

You're michael mcdowell stirring up trouble arent you?

A watered down left HAS to be better than what we have.

C'mon folks , lets have a left / indie / green coalition. Everyone I talk to is in favour of it. The alternative is another 4 years of fianna fail / PD hell. Nobody really wants that. Except perhaps Marxist!!

The problem with your idea is not so much the smaller groups as the leadership of the
Irish Labour Party. I don't think much will get off the ground while Pat Rabitte is leader &
along with some of his key aides who strangle debate in that party. I agree that ther are a
number of Labour candidates in a few areas around the country that are worth voting for &
as for a selection of the best from availabe of Sinn Fein Green and smaller groups sure theres
no reason why one can't defy the official pacts and vote in what ever pattern you choose.I could go
on at more length if you had the time and interest about a list of the least bad candidates likely to
stand in different parts of the country next year in the election

I know for a fact there are many Labour members unhappy with Rabbitte leadership. I think most Lab member sin favour of some sort of SF/Green/Leftist Indp alliance. How could anyone on the left currently not be considering the option on offer. ie the flippin Mullingar Accord!!!

The call for a left coalition in the 26 counties should be put into action. The principles of agreement and the support of candidates for a push for the next election can only benefit those people who the Celtic tiger has mauled and scare those who have been milking workers for generations.

It would also give us in the six counties the hope that the politics of re unification will be met by new and fresh political thinking in the twenty six..lets get this coalition for change on the road.

Has anybody considered the possibility that what Sinn Fein may be about is a definite coalition with the largest 'Republican', 'Nationalist', 'Socialist' and 'Capitalist' party...yes the be all, to all, trick of all trickster parties..Fianna Fail. And this grand coalition created for one thing and one thing only, to get into the room, pull the carpet from under their feet and hang up new curtains!
It would take a long time, but I think what Sinn Fein are about is to do to Fianna Fail what they did to the SDLP, put them on the slow roaster. Themselves alone?
