All around the world airports are being built and enlarged in countries which appear to realise the 'climate crisis' is just a load of nonsense. But not in poor, gullible Britain.

The local election results are as terrible for the Conservatives as feared and thanks to Reform they would have been lucky to have had only a 1997-style wipeout, says veteran pollster John Curtice.

Italian judge issues EU warrents for 22 CIA operatives

category international | crime and justice | news report author Friday December 23, 2005 14:50author by iosaf Report this post to the editors

This morning an Italian judge in Milan issued 22 warrents for individuals thought to be CIA agents for their crimes under Italian law in the case of kidnap, unlawful imprisonment and "extra-ordinary rendition" of a former Milanes Iman Abu Omar.

It is only the second time since the beginning of the "war on terror" that a European judge has issued warrents of arraingment on US forces.

The 22 are accused of bringing the imam to Egypt where he was tortured in 2003.

The 22 whose names are so far not being publicised may now be arrested under Italian law anywhere outside of the USA. The warrents issued are "EU warrents". I presume that Gardaí and Airport police in Ireland will be obliged to keep an eye out for these 22 agents at Irish / EU facilities.

They thus join a growing list of "american fugitives" (sergeant Thomas Gibson, captain Philip Wolford lieutenant colonel Philip de Camp all wanted by Spain for killing TV man José Couso)

Excellent news! For too long have the CIA and US military gotten away with murder (literally). The treatment of 'embedded' journalists in Iraq was in itself a criminal act. Glad to see someone at least willing to go against the grain to do the right thing.
Maybe someday we'll see warrants issued for Dick Cheney and George Bush someday (though I won't be holding my breath for that one!)
