Jump To Comment: 2 1A stimulating workshop on the theme "Isolation" took place in The Strand Hotel, Omeath, on Saturday afternoon.
Formal scripted presentations were made to the workshop by each of the following: Eric Hynes, Paul Jennings, Archbishop Michael Desmond Hynes OMA PhD, Anne Muldowney, Leonard Hatrick TC, Anna Nolan. Eamonn O'Boyle TC also made a short formal speech.
The second half of the workshop consisted of a moderated discussion.
The workshop concluded at 5.30 p.m. and was followed by a dinner.
The workshop was organised by Cooley Environmental and Health Group. It was the sixth in a series of annual winter workshops. Louth County Enterprise Board gave a generous grant towards the workshop (as they have done in previous years)
Sean Crudden facilitated the workshop.
Others who participated in the workshop were: Paddy Nolan, Kevin Hynes, Christina O'Boyle, Lorna Martin, Mary Scott, Rosanna Crudden, Kathleen Hynes.
Derek McDonnell, Dundalk FM 100, conducted interviews at the workshop for a documentary on the workshop.
Apologies were received from Kalichi, Arthur Morgan TD, John Maguire, John Radican, Finnan McCoy MCC.
Kalichi has dropped out of the program of speakers for the workshop because he has gotten paid work on that day. Eric Hynes, Kevin Hynes, Ann Clarke and Luke Martin have all agreed to speak formally at the workshop (in addition to the speakers already announced). Eric will present his memoir "The Eric Hynes Dance Band - 1949 to 1963." He will be the first speaker.
Further speakers may be announced in the coming week.
Dinner will be served at 6.00 p.m. and will be free to each formal speaker at the workshop. Others will be charged as follows: Members of Cooley Environmental and Health Group €10; Non-members €20. Please note that there is no charge to anyone for participating in the workshop itself.
