Go n-éirí leis an cruinnú!

Seo mar a scríobh an Nuachtán LÁ :

Ag seasamh an fhóid i Ros Dumhach

Deireadh Fómhair 1996
Thángthas ar pháirc gáis na Coirribe 70 km ó chósta Mhaigh Eo agus 3,500 méadar faoi leibheál na farraige.

Deireadh Fómhair 2000
Rinne Bord Gáis cur síos ar phleananna píblíne a thógáil ó thuaisceart Mhaigh Eo go Contae na Gaillimhe.

Samhain 2000
Chuir Enterprise Energy Ireland (EEI) iarratas pleanála isteach le haghaidh críochfoirt ar an chladach ag Béal an Átha Buí, tuaisceart Mhaigh Eó.

Lúnasa 2001
Cheadaigh Comhairle chontae Mhaigh Eo don iarratas pleanála le coinníolacha. Rinne cónaitheoirí agus lucht comhshaoil achainní láithreach chuig An Bord Pleanála.

Feabhra 2002
Chuir An Bord Pleanála tús le héisteachtaí i mBeal an Átha ar an achainní i gcoinne fhorbairt an chríochfoirt ar an chladach.

Aibreán 2003
Rinne An Brod Pleanála cinne Comhairle Chontae Mhaigh Eo a chealadh. Chuir EEI a míshásamh in iúl agus thug siad le fios go raibh siad ag déanamh athsmaoinimh ar thodchaí thionscnamh gáis na Coirribe.

Meán Fómhair 2003
Dúirt EEI go raibh sé ar inchinn acu plean nua a chur faoi bhráid na Comhairle i Maigh Eó le haghaidh críochfoirt ar an chladach.

Nollaig 2003
Chuir EEi iarratas pleanála nua isteach faoi ainm úr s’acu Shell E&P. Tá pleananna ann le haghaidh tógáil móna ó shuíomh an chríochfoirt.

Aibreán 2004
Bhronn Comhairle Chontae Mhaigh Eó cead pleanála ach le 75 coinníoll. Thug lucht na hagóide le fios go raibh se ar inchinn acu achainní a dhéanamh chuig An Bord Pleanála.

Deireadh Fómhair 2004
Fuair Shell cead pleanála ón Bhord Pleanála le haghaidh críochfoirt gáis Bhéal an Átha Buí. Thug siad le fios go rachadh siad i mbun oibre láithreach. Thug muintir na háite le fios go raibh an cinneadh seo deistineach.

Eanáir 2005
Thoisigh obair le haghaidh tógáil móna ó shuíomh an chríochfoirt. D’fhoilsigh Shell pleananna ó thaobh bhainistiú tráchta fhad is a bheadh an obair seo ar siúl.

Aibreán 2005
Cuireadh gníomhartha ar bun san Ard-Chúirt chun cosc a chur ar chónaitheoirí cur isteach nó bac a chur le hobair tógála an phíblíne i Ros Dumhach. Thug an Ard-Chúirt cead do Shell dul ar thalamh príobháideach leis an phíblíne a chur ar aghaidh. Ag an am seo tháinig an scéal chun solais gur fhostaigh Shell comhlacht a bhfuil an-chuid scaranna acu ann, gur fhostaigh siad an chomhlacht seo le haghaidh fiosrucháin 'neamhspléaigh' a chur i gcrích maidir le sabháilteacht na píblíne.

Meitheamh 2005
Cuireadh cúigéar fear as Ros Dumhach chun príosún i ndiaidh dóibh diúltú cloí le hordú Ard-Chúirte gan cur isteach ar thógáil píblíne na Coirribe. Gheall siad go bhfanfadh siad sa phríosún go bhfaighfeadh siad a gcearta. Chuir a dteaglaigh agus a lucht tacaíochta tús le picéad láithreach ar Ros Dumhach, ar Bhéal an Átha Buí agus ar Ghleann na gCad, suíomhanna phíblíne Shell.

Iúil 2005
Cuireadh léirsithe ar bun ag tacú le Cúigéar Ros Dumhach i gCaisleán an Bharraigh, i mBaile an Átha agus i mBaile Átha Cliath i rith an tsamhraidh. D’ordaigh Aire na nAcmhainní Nádúrtha Noel Dempsey athbhreathnú breise ar shábháltacht phíblíne gáis na Coirribe agus é ag súil deireadh a chur leis an achrann idir na léirsitheoirí agus Shell. Thug an tAire Dempsey le fios go ndearna oifigigh de chuid a roinn féin scrúdú ar shuíomh Shell ar an chladach agus gurbh é tuairim a roinne gur sháraigh Shell roinnt mhaith de na coinníollacha a leagadh síos maidir leis an phíblíne. D’ordaigh sé do Shell 3km den phíblíne a bhí curtha le chéile acu a bhaint as a chéile.

Lúnasa 2005
Thug an tAire Dempsey cead do Shell píblíne 75km a leagaint ó pháirc na Coirribe go tuaisceart Mhaigh Eo. Chuir Shell E&P Ireland siar a gcinneadh an phíblíne a leagaint go dti 2006. Thug Shell le fios nach gcuirfeadh seo isteach ar sceideal críochnaithe an tionscnaimh, agus go gceadódh seo tréimhse díospóireachta agus cainte.

Meán Fómhair 30 2005
D’iarr dlíodóirí thar cheann Shell go dtógfaí an urghaire sealadach i gcoinne an cúigear fear, ós rud é nach raibh aon obair ag dul ar aghaidh ar an suíomh mar gheall ar an athbhreathnú sábháltachta. Chinnigh Uachtarán na hArd-Chúirte an Giúistís Joseph Finnegan gur chóir na fir a ligint saor, ach thug sé rabhadh dóibh faoina n-iompar amach anseo.
Beidh na fir ar ais san Ard-Chúirt níos moille an mhí seo, áit a chinneoidh an Giúistís Finnegan cé acu ar chóir pionós a ghearradh orthu mar gheall ar a ndíspeagadh cúirte.
