Jump To Comment: 1 2its a turbo prop. 2 hijackers. I presume at least one pilot and someone to keep an eye on the mini drinks.
thats 22 people on board. I suggested 23 allowing for a co-pilot, the latin americans say 25 allowing for inflation and BloombsergCNNFOXABC say 24.
anyway they want to talk to president Uribe.
really old fashioned.
observe the difference.
they don't want to kill 'emselves.
now i'm not updating anymore.
feck off.
the 23 passengers and crew were released after a local priest and presidential official talked to the hijackers who were not repeat not marxist commie mujahadeen (FARC/AL QAEDA) or their right wing extreme right presently on ceasefire loyalist equivalents (AUC) or even representatives of the plethora of Cocaine cartels.
They were in fact protesting the lack of assistance offered their dad.
"The father is confined to a wheelchair and the hijack may have been related to a failed demand for compensation. It seems he had been involved in an incident with police which left him disabled, local television channel RCN reports"
(BBC jeremy mcdermott reported on scene)
So there you go. We do have an angle.
*Disabled people,
*Police brutality
*Compensation.
*the limits of direct action.
If you are campaigning on behalf of people who have suffered at the hands of the state or its agents there are limits to what you can do. Don't go hijacking the Aran islands airlines and setting off alarm bells that you've got a twin prop plane full of :-
a) commie mujaheedin.
b) cocaine.
c) WMD
