28 years old Irish man dead at the FIB Festival in Benicàssim

Reading this morning the Spanish newspapers I came across the news that an Irish citizen died yesterday. He had suffered from ashma. It was a natural dead.

CASTELLÓN.- Un joven de 28 años y nacionalidad irlandesa falleció en la zona de acampada del Festival Internacional de Benicàssim (FIB), por causas naturales, según informaron fuentes de la organización del certamen y de la Comandancia de la Guardia Civil de Castellón.


El cuerpo sin vida fue encontrado en su tienda de campaña, localizada en la zona de acampada Camfib. El forense, que levantó el cadáver a primera hora de la tarde, indicó que el fallecimiento se ha debido a causas naturales, señalaron las mismas fuentes. La víctima padecía de antecedentes asmáticos.

Los miembros del Equipo de Policía Judicial de la Guardia Civil de Benicàssim y Forense, que se desplazaron hasta el lugar del siniestro, no se apreciaron signos de violencia, según informó la Comandancia de la Guardia Civil.

No obstante, desde la organización de este festival que se celebra en este municipio castellonense apuntaron que el cadáver ha sido trasladado al Instituto Anatómico Forense de Castellón, donde se le practicará la autopsia. Así, recalcaron que la investigación ha quedado en manos del médico forense y de la Policía Judicial.

Según la información facilitada por un familiar, que se encontraba con la víctima en Benicàssim, el viernes ambos se desplazaron por la tarde a la playa, pero el joven se encontró indispuesto, por lo que regresaron a la tienda de acampada, donde, permaneció descansando sin asistir a los conciertos.

La organización del FIB puntualizó, ante este desgraciado suceso, que el público de este certamen "ante cualquier problema de salud se dirija a los numerosos puntos de asistencia sanitaria que funcionan durante las 24 horas del día, tanto en el recinto de conciertos como en las zonas de acampada".

Por último, la organización de FIB Heineken lamentó profundamente los hechos y comunicó que se une al dolor de los familiares del joven irlandés, concluyeron las mismas fuentes.
