Adam Sisman's new biography of Asa Briggs is an unintentional revelation, says Professor James Alexander. It shows how the feted historian was an overrated time-server who embodied everything wrong with the modern age.

Is this what it has come to-using a bloody awful band (named after terrorists themselves) and a ridiculous video as an aid for US Bashing.

It really is a sad stae of affairs.

By the way, neutrality is nothing to be proud of.

I think you may be reading a little too much into this video. It's a silly music video by a silly and eccentric band, not Geoffrey Chaucer. Sure, it's slightly allegorical and most certainly metaphorical, but I don't think we really need to read quite so deep into it. A 35 year old man plays a mock UN student, for Pete's sake!

Contentless abuse removed-IMC Ed

who should do some research before making such music/music videos.

95,000 U.S. Soldier asses licked in the first 3 months of this year at Shannon........

With a current minister of defence who has invested in oil company shares which have quadrupled since the invasion......

And a cowardly 6 months of Irish presidency on the UN Security Council which eventually saw UN Res. 1441 been misconstrued as a war resolution without subsequent overt condemnation/clarification by the Irish politicians intrisically involved in that particular process.

During the same period there was Sweet F*** All mentioned by the Irish delegates about the sanctions regime which had already killed over 1 million IRAQI people..........

And lest we forget (cause the public seem not to give a shit) €10 million of Irish taxpayers money used by the dept. of transport to pay the Irish Aviation Authority US military overflight fees which hade been waived the FF/PD gvt.

My advice to the Decemberists........
Ring up your 1st cousin's sister-in-laws boyfriend's brother/sister and educate yourself about the recent Irish sell out To the Schoolyard Bully..................
And ask some of the soldiers in the U.S. if they can pick you up some Butlerr's chocolates on the way back from killing a few Muslims.
