Facilitating community based sustainable waste management and exploring local job creation and enterprise through recycling is a major challenge in moving us towards healthy communities. If you thought recycling is an environmental issue, think again. Recycling has moved from being a pursuit of the environmentally aware to a potential multimillion-euro economic activity. This interactive session will feature four short presentations by Sheena McCambley from the Ballymun Rediscovery Centre, Bernie Walsh from Sunflower Recycling, Mary O'Reilly from MCOS and a representative from the UK Community Recycling Network. These will be followed with discussion on how communities can tap into the potential of creating wealth and jobs from waste.
