from the assassin's guild.
Book worms, and students of Italian here's a new titlie which might interest you.
But if you're a nutter, (like the type who climbed on to the St Peter's basilica dome last saturday and asked for a lottery for orphans) you're *not to* read it. In fact none of you are to read it. Consider it as bad for your moral development as the Da Vinci Code.
If you're very talented, and related to a government member, you might like to write your own Irish take on it and get a salary in addition to your tax free income. As reported in today's Irish Independent, Berlusconi's party (who control the majority share of Italian print and broacast media) have been unable to stop the latest "hit" to reach the book shelves.
The 2nd novel by Guiseppe Caruso,
"Chi ha ucciso Silvio Berlusconi?"
which translated means :-
"who killed Berlusconi".
Guiseppe Caruso, is not be confused with the legendary singer (who is dead) or the author of "lectromyography in the Diagnosis and Management of Peripheral Nerve Injuries". Nor indeed is he to be confused with the famous and revered Italian Architect. http://www.archinform.net/arch/3769.htm?ID=nzm3bFJTlN5rlNIy
Guiseppe Caruso is in fact a journalist with the Italian daily "l'Unita" and writes about basketball and things like that. & like an awful lot of people especially media professionals and activists he doesn't like Berlusconi.

But is that enough to publish a book asking who has killed the man?
Well this is a matter for consequence and futurology, ethics which at present are not that highly developed in the Western tradition since they find it dificult to get past Aristotlean and Pythagorean notions of time, not even Tomas Aquinus could manage to get the debate much further along, and as we all may ruefully ponder Calvin did his bit on the question too. Let us just say, for the moment, that if Berlusconi outlives most and dies in bed in his bunker on Sardinia without ever having suffered respiratory problems or gone on a life support machine, Guiseppe Caruso will not get the blame.
But if "the" Berlusconi or indeed any other "berlusconi" is murdered in the way described in the book, then Mr Caruso will naturally have fingers of blame pointed at him.
Here's an interview with him in which he discusses his hit :-

For their part, the loyal team of Berlusconi have suggested that the names in the book might have been changed.
I suppose they were thinking -
Chi ha ucciso Casini?
= who killed Casini?
Anyway, I'm not going to be tricked into tempting any of you ruffians into buying a book that might be on the wicked index,
i'll just recommend "going postal" by Terry Pratchet which I happily recieved a few weeks ago as a present from Ireland.
It's a really good read, it deals with Lord Vetinari's (the vampire who is absolute ruler of the charming city ankh-morpork) attempts to get the postal service going again by the appointment of a "human skills" expert who working with a very interesting lady Mrs Dearheart of the Golem protection agency and the "smoking GNU" (a bunch of clever semaphorists). This involves a lengthy battle with corporative interests and the lowly professional politicians they've bought, and even the surprise appearance of a banshee.
you can find "Going Postal" in your local library.
Be inspired.
****************
Or you could always read the charming daughter of an Taoiseach Bertie the little rascal Ahern's latest work-
"where the rainbow ends".
yes quite, that will be when your da's regime collapses.
